Looks like the 2011, is selling about as well as the 2010. Averaging right around 5500 permonth

 

Camaro ahead two months in a row, what a disturbing trend...

 

I really couldn't care less if the Camaro keeps selling. Remember it wasn't available for 5 years. I'm really not that surprised. I thought the 5.0/3.7 might turn the tables, but having the most pony car sales really isn't that big of a deal.

 

If Ford will get serious in the financing department (including leases), you will see the Mustang on top very quickly.

Yes and if you and I could see more 5.0s actually in person at your local dealers then maybe they'd sell more too.

Having Chevy/GM get the sponsorship of a T show practically named after the 5.0 (as in Hawaii) surely cannot help. What's the deal with that? The original 5-0 featured Mercs, Lincolns, and Fords galore. A little more product placement by Ford with more interior & exterior shots of Danno's car might help things.

Locally, there are more Camaros on dealer lots than Mustangs. Disappointed by the numbers, but it's not a huge loss. Take it in stride and see what comes from it.

I finally definitely saw another 5.0 out in the wild. A 2011 black GT coupe, had the badges and everything, didn't see if it had Brembos, I was kinda dealing with a high speed right turn at the time and the black one was stopped at a light so I could only glance enough to see the badge.

It was also twilight!

 

Where are all these new Camaro's? I rarely see them in N.E. Ohio.

I've only seen a handful of 5.0's on the road. I see more Challengers on the lots than I see on the road.

I see a ton of 05-10 Mustangs!

 

As for the Camaro out selling the Mustang?
1.) Its still a new model.
2.) The Camaro has a large fan base.
3.) Its a nice car. Not as nice as the Mustang, but still a nice car.
4.) Some people still like GM products.
5.) Ford sold a ton of 05-10 Mustangs.

 

Camaros are frequent sightings in Atlanta during nice weather weekends. I hardly see any sports cars being used as a daily driver consistently, just on occasion when, I presume, the owner gets tired of his real daily driver and feels like driving the fun car. Or to show off at the office.

Still, I agree with your other point. While I don't see nearly as many 5.0s as I do SSes, there are still more than enough Mustangs in general to make up the deficit. I've seen just about everything, V6, GT, GT500, Terminators, Bullitts, even a GT500KR. A lot of '05+, and as noted, this same time frame Camaro wasn't even in existence.

I think a lot of people are generally pleased by the new engines, but probably we aren't getting too many trading in just because a lot of the people who would already have Mustangs, and others would probably not trade in anyway. I mean if you own a GT500 or a Terminator chances are you're quite happy.

 

In the Metro Detroit area, there are far more Camaros on the lot than Mustangs. The three closest to me have at least a dozen Camaros on the lot, while the Mustangs are usually only 3-4 per lot. One dealer has 10, while the others only have a few.

 

I thinks its mainly so many '05-'09 that for various reasons haven't traded up yet. Plus all the loyal GM fans waiting for years for another maro

Here in Ohio, Car Cruising usually ends at the end of October. The Classic cars get stored away, and people with modern Pony cars usually drive them on nice weekends, until it snows.

I am very pleased with the new engines, but not enough to trade my 2008 Mustang GT Premium. I got an awesome deal on that car(Z-Plan+0%+rebate $$), and it is only driven on nice weekends. Its still brand new to me.

I do have some interest in the Boss, and if they come out with a Mach1, I just may have to bite. But, my goal is to save money for the Next Generation Mustang. I'm not in any hurry, I've even thought about just keeping my GT, and buying a SHO or Lincoln MKS.
