security system

my 2010 ragtop has an idiot light for the passive security system flashing on the tach face when car is off. Not sure if this is a problem or not. I looked it up in the owners manual and the information is rather lacking. Is it supposed to be flashing and i just haven't noticed it before? is it something I need to address? or is it normall?
thanks for any help

Yep, they do that. No worries. It's a notice to the thieves that the car has an alarm system. Not that it will always stop a scumbag, but it helps.

Hi guys,

As others mentioned, the PATS light will flash about once every 3 seconds when your vehicle is off. This is normal.
