Satellite antenna wart...
Premium Mustang owners, how does the satellite antenna mount to the decklid, is it just a stick-on mount or does the decklid have a hole for it?
Another option I've been toying with (if it can work, and only if I didn't get a Glass Roof car) would be to get one of the Lincoln antennas from the MkS or MkZ. They are painted body color, and I believe they incorporate both the radio and sat antennas. Also, the Lincolns come in most the same colors as the Mustangs do, so you could possibly get one already painted in your color. You could either replace the black trunk antenna with one painted the same color as your car and keep the standard radio antenna, or maybe even remove the standard radio antenna and incorporate both into the new antenna (still on the trunk). If you're really resourceful, you may be able to incorporate both radio and sat into a painted antenna, then move it to the roof where it's less noticeable (and have the trunk and fender filled and shaved), but this would obviously cost the most. Just some options to think about. I've put a lot of thought into this too, and studied a bunch of different Ford products to think of options.
You could even have both shaved and stick them under the window/windshield. I have an Alpine stick-oh antenna that mounts across the inside of the windshield. It works great, but they are discontinued...

I had a external cell phone antenna on my 18 wheeler that stuck on the outside and had another part with the cable that stuck onto the inside and the signal passed through so no hole was drilled. Thought it may have been possible for it to work that way in the fiberglass decklid.
I have since found a picture of the antenna not mounted to the car and it does go through a pretty fair sized hole in the decklid.
Too bad, was hoping for something easier to move than that.

I would think that moving the antennas to the inside windshield area would be the best answer but would leave two holes in the body to be filled.
Here is a inside mounted radio antenna: http://www.thehoffmangroup.com/autol...sso?itemid=HAB

The satellite signal goes through glass. I currently drive a Sebring, for the next few weeks anyway and I have my antenna mounted under the dash, hidden out of site. The windshield on the Sebring is rather large, on a sloped angel that provides a clear sat signal. A glass roof car may work and enable you to hide the antenna within the car.
Since the antenna cables for both antennas are already to the back of the car it would seem that inside the rear glass on the deck behind the seats would be the place to mount both antennas. Minimal amount of cable chasing required. I would just mount the stock satellite antenna there and get one of those hidden antennas for the regular radio and put it in there too and splice the cable from it to the stock antenna cable.
The only thing that would keep that from working would be if you had an aluminum rear window louver on the car.

It might be worth asking a company like Visual Garage to make a painted slip cover for that wart that would stick on the OEM one. They do sharkfin antennas and the quality is fantastic. I could see them making something, but only if it would fit several vehicles.
