Roush CAI for 5.0
Roush CAI for 5.0
Was looking at the Roush website and found their new CAI for the 2011 5.0. Nicest looking CAI I have seen so far.

I had it for my 2010 GT, didnt like it, i returned it, was too flimsy and the front didnt connect directly to the front air duct., left a wide open space and just didnt look right.
Went with the K&N filter for now.

You wonder how any of these CAI's work better than stock with the hood down? I can not see them out preforming the OE intake with the hood down because the air duct pulls air from the front on the OE. Even if they gain a few hp is it worth the 300+? They should test it stock with the hood down and then add the CAI and test it with the hood down.

I am not sure how they test them to get the numbers they do so I can't comment there.
Edit: I think most companies know it's not a perfect scenario but if they can create any better a flow over the stock then they have done their jobs I suppose.

I agree. Not worth the money you pay. I do like the way the Roush set up looks though. Ford said that they only lose about 8% in their new design. They have the K&N in the ford racing catalog and should have the same performance for less money.
I am trying to keep the car as original as I can (the way I purchased it), so in 15-30 years, can be unique lol. Sounds weird, but so many go crazy and nothing is original. I need another one to play around with !

This is what Granatelli said about it.
"WE dyno'd this intake prior to the construction of our new twin turbo kit for the 5.0 4v - it made a repeatable 5hp and 3ft/lbs. 8 and 8 never happened - sounded better as well. Ford did a great job this time with the stock stuff."
