I got some good news. The Mustang shop said I have the Ford Racing Hot Rod cams in the car. The dealer is going to pay for them to install the oem cams and a tuner. The tuner is for the 3.73 (not 4.10 like I thought) gears in the rear. It should be ready in a few days.

 

???? Why revert it back instead of just having them fix the idle issues??? Makes no sense.

Exactly. Makes no sense to me. I suggest some in depth research and true understanding of your vehicle and what makes it tick... Take your time. Don't just listen to what dealers or for that matter, what this forum says. Sounds to me like you rushed to buy this vehicle without proper research and now you're rushing to fix it, all without taking the time to understand the vehicle. Relax and step back for a bit. Don't rush into action.

 

I would rather have the car idle smooth than have the sound. I was getting 15mpg as well and that will not do. A smooth running V8 sounds fine by me. The car is my daily driver. At least I got the really nice sounding exhaust.

I got my car back and she is running smooth as a whistle. I am really happy with it.
