Replacing SYNC module

I upgraded my SYNC version and it's worse than it was before. Ford will not allow one to downgrade their software.

Can I use a new SYNC module (or one from a junkyard) that hasn't been upgraded in order to run the old software? Do I need to look for a donor car with matching features (e.g. navigation and no Shaker Pro)?

Bump.

These are readily available on eBay, is it worth a try? Do I need to ask the seller the details of the donor car?

Can you rerun the update? Maybe that would work. Sorry I don't have any other help.

BTW, I've called the SYNC people several times, and they have always been very good at helping. Just a thought.
