Removing Boss 302 Stripes
I think the stripes are becoming over-done. Just about every V6 I see on the road is loaded with stripes. Doesn't matter if it's a Camaro, Challenger, or Charger.
That said I do sort of miss the old way of displaying engine displacement in Cubic Inches, rather than liters.

I prefer the stripes and it has nothing to do with the 'hey look at me' approach. It is a car paying homage to a past model. No one would even think twice about removing the stripes off an original Boss! But there was the awesome I don't need no stinking stripes Boss 429! Either way the final verdict is up to you and it IS YOUR car so you keep it the way you want to! I.E. The OEM stripe pkg is very expensive! :-)
It is a Boss 302 which makes me want to keep the stripes (since it came that way from factory) but it's not a 1969 Boss 302. There aren't chrome bumpers to pay homage nor are there carbs.
People shouldn't remember the Boss for the stripes, but instead for the HO V8 and the track ready set-up. That's not changing.
IF, big IF still
, I remove them, I'd still leave the "BOSS 302" part, similar to the 429. It'd look too naked with nothing.Worst case and I regret everything, I found replacement stripes for $150-$175.

I just looked through an old thread you created with pictures of your car. What are you going to do about the white roof? The BOSS stripes actually look pretty good on the Kona Blue, but the hood and roof being white is a bit much imo. Tough decision.
With a small white decal on the side, I think it'll tie together nicely. The same or better than how it already is.
GOTSVT, I'd only add the side stripes from the '13. I like the hood the way it is. It emphasizes the "power bulge."

That's because Ford has exclusive rights to 3M's reflective material, so they can charge whatever they want for it. The 12s have regular old vinyl, but even the OEM is like $500 I believe...
What HID bulbs did you get?
I like the look of the Kona Boss w/o the white roof and hood, with just the C stripes. It really let's the beautiful Kona shine. But while you can peel off the hood decal, the roof is painted, and would need a vinyl wrap. But you've stated you like just the opposite, so it will be interesting to see what you decide to do.
You are also gonna take a small hit on resale value de-striping it, but if you never plan on ever selling it like a lot of Boss owners, who cares?

I say leave the stripes but I like stripes because they set the car off from all of the other plain Jane Mustangs out there. I would check into how much you can buy replacement stripes for in case you do want to sell it in the future. I'm one of those people who wouldn't buy the car without the stripes on it and I'm guessing there would be a lot of people that feel the same way. In the end though, it's your car and you know what appeals to you so if you don't like the stripes, then you probably should take them off.
