Red light on the dash?

I've read a few threads now about a red light that comes on when you approach or hit red line. I've held it to the floor through a few gears in my auto(mucho times) and haven't noticed a light. Is it only on manuals?

Nada on mine that I've noticed. Shifts about 65-68.

Put it in 1st and leave it (even on the auto)... I was a little "spirited" in my shifting and found out the whole tach lit red... and the rev limiter reminded me it was all out of power in that gear. LOL!

Make sure it's dark outside. For effect.

Not sure, but on my friends V6 base model it does not do that. Or at least that he knows of, but on my Premium V6 it does.

I'm sure on the auto if you just leave it in drive and floor it the tranny will shift before it would ever turn the rev limit light on.

So, yes, you would have to manually hold it in low gear.

Tell us how that works out, if it actually will hold first gear and not shift out before it gets to redline.

Why the heck would you need a shift light in an auto? That's like having a barrel of salt water in the atlantic.

It's not a shift light is it?

Thought it's a redline warning.

Here is a video of what we're talking about.

Edit: This one is much better even though it is a 2010.
