Red Candy paint

Strange thing, I was looking at F150's today and noticed that the Red Candy Tinted Clearcoat option is only $250 MSRP where on a Mustang it is a $395 option. You'd think it would be more expensive on a supercrew truck that has more than twice as much surface area than on a Mustang...

Maybe they use the same amount of paint as they onna mistang, therefore its a thinner layer of paint. Since most f150's will either be work truck or something people are gonna mod and take off road, thinner paint might be a lil better cuz it wont cost as much to fix up a scratched area or sumthin like that. I rwally dont know why but its an idea

Any more, half ton pickups like an F150 never see any hard work or rough conditions and they really can't paint them any thinner than a car, both go through the same robotic paint process.

Only thing I can think of is that there is a better profit margin on trucks so they give a break on the optional paint.

And you can only get Red Candy on XLT and above packages, not on the lesser versions like the XL and STX.

The one I'd really like to have is a FX2 supercrew with the Ecoboost V6, will tow up to a 9800 pound trailer with 3.55 gears and 11,300 pound trailers with the 3.73's. And for as heavy as they are they will scoot pretty good, mid to low 14's in the 1/4.

Thats true. And if you live in texas youll see plenty of f150 work trucks and plenty of em around here are modded and i see em go muddin and off roadin plenty. In fact my buddy down the street had his painted like a khaki color, alot like military humvees so you cant really see many scratches on there from goin thriugh some brush along the trails.
