First time I've seen a '13 "in the wild"; those tail lights look amazing in person. I saw him coming down an on-ramp from about 8 cars back! I took a couple pics and a short video; it's not perfect, as I was just pointing my phone in the car's general direction and watching where I was driving instead, but wanted to share anyhow. I wasn't totally sold on the new design until I saw it in person. Another note, those "wings" or whatever you want to call them on the headlights look pretty sweet lit up as well!

 

I had one mess with me on I75 NB a few weeks ago. It was the new blue color. I'm like you though, the lights are amazing in person. Seeing them at night sold me instantly.

 

Yep....still like my '11 better.

 

Thanks for the video and pictures, Jay. It's funny, I *****ed about the 2013's front end just the other day, but the more I see it, the more I like it. I absolutely love the new rear end and tail lights!

 

Seriously, pics do not do them justice; I wasn't crazy about them in the pics until I saw them lit up going down the road. Looks amazing.

 

Now I'm really sold on buying a 2013 BOSS 302!!

 

So, are you going to take the plunge and retrofit the 2013 rear end and tail lights onto your 2011 5.0L? I suppose you'd have to either paint your existing rocker panels or buy the 2013 parts since the black ones won't flow very well with the new rear end. I hope you don't mind being the guinea pig.

funny. 2010-2012 had crappy rear end and sweet front end. Now for 2013 it's the opposite!

How did the new blue look in person?

 

Oh, it's already in the works. I've made a few phone calls to key people to try and make it happen. I haven't decided how to handle the rear. I may have the lower portion painted matte black, or get painted side skirts. Either way, I'll come up with a solution. Keep your eyes peeled (or check the retrofit thread in my sig)

I agree. But maybe if I see it in person I might change my tune. Of course I am biased towards 2012 because i own one...lol. Besides they removed kona from the lineup!

So here's a question... who owns this red car you saw? It's not out for the public to purchase yet right? heck the pricing guide isn't out yet. So who owns this particular red 2013? How did they get it?

It has an M plate (Manufacturer), which means its a test/pep/pre-production car. I work in Detroit; stuff's running all over. Gotta love the Motor City!

 

Ill definitely be retrofitting the 13 shelby rear end onto my car.
