Rear quarter window louvers...

I havent drove a Mustang with them , but I really like the looks .. So..upgrade or downgrade ??? Do they block out any of the blind spot or can you see through them easily.. Now these are the stock FORD ones not after market ..or post a link to another thread if this is already been asked .. Thanks ..

These are a very touchy subject. I've always loved how they look regardless if they are "functional" or not they look great IMO. here is mine.

It does make visibility out of the quarters obsolete, but I use the rear window and side mirrors.

still a huge fan of Silverhorse racing's louvers- its highly subjective, but to me the flush mounts just look more like they belong there. their visibility is 90% same as without them...they are lexan so the view is slightly distorted, but youre looking for clearance, not reading a book thru them

ONLY drawback to SHR visibilty wise is rear seat passengers cant see out- but the kids sit so low they really couldnt see anything but sky with the windows anyway...

heres a pic on a 10+ body if you havent seen them yet:

I love the looks of them on any Mustang. But I'll never add them to mine. I already don't see that good as it is, so I look through mine while crossing the highway.

Tim, those are the ones I've thought about.

Nope. They say they can come off but mine feel like they are glued there I don't even bother trying to take them off.

They look great on any Mustang, when I had them on my 05 I loved the looks of them. Just trying to see through them can be difficult. I prob wont get them for my 11.

Because you should be checking your *blind* spot everytime you change lanes.

Regardless of which ones you get, they'll all affect your visibility to some degree. But with paying attention to your mirrors and setting them correctly, you should be able to see all around you just fine.

Most of them are held on with 3M tape, which seems to hold pretty **** good. You'd be suprised how many other uses you can find for it...and it just seems to hold, even in extreme heat.

Did you ever end up installing these? I'm considering getting the SHR or Roush louvers but the install has me worried.

I have the OEM louvers on mine and yes, visibility is impaired. But I can still see through them enough to see if there is a car there or whatever.

Do it. If you don't like them, you can always take them off and sell them. hardest part will be picking which ones you want.

I was having trouble finding anyone to install them... Body shops, window guys, nobody would do it... I think I have a lead for an installer now but I've been swamped at work so I've yet to follow it up. I'll keep you posted

Ditto on DG Custom. I like them better than stock ford louvers, plus you can actually see out of them.

Best place to get the DG Customs?
It looks like those stick to the window vs the ROUSH style ones that stick to the Car bod itself!?

Anyone have the "Pre-Painted" ones from American Muscle? They are the ROUSH "Stlye" ones.

Yes, they stick to the wondow. I ordered mine through stage3motorsports, pre-painted. Perfect match and excellent quality in their paint.

I absolutely agree 100%. I have them and love them, visibility is uncompromised.
