Raised white letter tires

Anyone know if anyone makes tires this way for 18-20 inch rims (other than racing tires)? I'd like to try this out on my 5.0 if there are any around.

Sidewalls are a lot shorter now than in 1970 so there isn't the room for the lettering that there used to be. Good luck on this.

Well, how big of a lift do you wanna put on? I'm sure some 285/55r18 mud tires would look great

In all seriousness, BFG does white letter on one side of all their truck tires, maybe the car tires are the same? I'm sure there's something. The Firestone Indy 500 tire(truck, again) may come in a size that fits. I haven't seen a white letter tire on a car in tooooo long

This was a big topic of discussion when the 05's first came out on this forum. If I remember correctly nothing ever came of it. There was some thought that when the Challenger and Camero came out, the demand would increase and some manufacturer(s) might think it was worth doing.

You'd be looking at itsy-bitsy letters. There are companys that make stick on letters and white pens, but why bother...

I wouldn't mind having a set of white (outlined) lettered tires.

There are companies that sell tire paint...IIRC they offered red, white and blue. They look like big highlighters. Google it...

Hmmm it looks like unfortunately this is the only option. I may be willing to try this, I do have allot of patience to get those P-Zeros painted lol

If you do it, post some photos. I'd love to see what that looked like

There are guys in the 2005-2009 section that have used them. I think if you're going for a retro theme, it does look decent. IIRC, I remember seeing a Black GT on BFGoodrich's with the letters painted white. I don't know how the Pirellis would look with the big letters raised though. I would do the small P-Zeros in red/yellow like on Ferraris/Lambos.

Please don't. You can pull it off on Mustangs from the 60s but that is about it. Plus I don't think you can buy raised lettering on tires of that size, unless you did it yourself.

I am a throwback to the 60's & 70's and I think it sounds like a great idea. Post the pictures when you do it.

Look at thread:

Post 12 starts with some pictures. Looks good to me.

You can get paint pens in lots of colors, works okay but you have to re-do it pretty often.

Back when I drove a 18 wheeler and showed it I used to letter the tires with the paint pens.

Walmart has them in their hobby supply section.

And if you do paint the letters and decide you don't like it it will wear off so it isn't permanent.
