Radio and Climate Control Switches not working in 2012

Hello and thanks for any help!

My car is a 2012 Mustang V6 Deluxe convertible. After not using it for a while, the battery died and I had to jump start it. On restart, none of the center instrument panels switches (radio, climate control, and heated seats) work. They do illuminate, however. The radio itself works via the steering wheel controls, and the climate system remains stuck on the setting last used (blowing warm air) before the battery drained, but there's no way to control them without the center switches working. I checked the fuses and all of them seem to be good. Perhaps I missed one? Does anyone know which fuse is assigned to these switches? The diagram in the owner's manual isn't very clear.

Thanks for any help!

You tried replacing the battery?

I have not. The battery seems to be working fine, now that it has a charge. The car starts fine, and all the other electric components work.

Unhook your positive battery cable for approx. 5 minutes then hook her back up. Hopefully that will reset whatever's causing your problem. Dang computers go crazy sometimes when the battery goes dead. Good luck.

Thanks for the tip, but no luck with that either. Still getting nothing from any of the central switches.

I have the same problem with my 2017 EcoBoost. Out of nowhere my radio controls only operate from steering wheel and a/c wont come on at all. But everything else works fine. I am thinking it might be the bcm but not sure. Can anybody help.

my radio in my 2012 Mustang has not been working. Later last year it stopped working a couple of times and then turned back on a couple of times. When it doesnt work, the clock blinks, the temperature and direction are shown but none of the functions or buttons work. The AC controls do work. I took the car to the ford dealership hoping for a quick fix. After four hours of investigation I was told the APIM Module failed. My question for anyone who could help is: if I put an aftermarket radio in, will that radio, and ac controls work properly. I was quoted 800 bucks from ford to fix my problem, and I think I could order a new radio dash to fit a touch screen for around 3 or 4 hundred

I'm dealing with same in 2012 V6 convertible. Radio is good. A/C and heat worked intermittently for a bit, now never lights up as if there's no power to it, however there is power when tested. I'll let you know how it goes here. I'm about to order the whole faceplate/panel to start.. My son is the backyard mechanic , lucky guy lol

This is just a guess on my part, but perhaps connecting a hand-held scanning tool may detect any potential electrical/trouble codes... Otherwise, I would consider locating an independent auto repair shop in your location who can properly run a diagnostic check on your vehicle's electrical system at a fair and reasonable price...

simple things first: make sure you checked ALL of the fuses (there are two fuse boxes)
