Question Question to those with GT500 mufflers

The dear Wifey has decided she wants the GT500 mufflers on her car. What a woman. My question is do these mufflers get louder with age? I would hate for her to have a falling out with them after some time, then want them taken off. I love her harder than a goat can butt a stump, but she is a woman. I'm sure you married guys understand. Thanks.

Get them now before she changes her mind. The tone will get better with age but not louder.

They sound great, I can't address how they get as time goes by as I only have 10 miles on them so far, but I love them, and for the price, they can't be beat. To me they are perfect, but then I am 56 so the super loud to me are for the kids. Love them!

I can vouch for the quad tip GT500's. They are fantastic. Had them on since I got the car in September and they sound great. I wouldn't say louder now... Just seasoned like a good steak.

Ford did a great job engineering a powerful and throaty sound without crossing the line to obnoxious. Quiet when you feather the throttle, loud when you put your foot in it. Sure it will be 'loud' on a cold start inside a closed garage, but there's a reason why these are so popular.

Pull the trigger, they only get better with age. Like a fine wine or scotch.

They sounds really great on a GT500. Steer her in that direction.

Take out the resonators and the quality is much better; sounds extremely similar to Borla S type for a fraction of the cost.

I'm a girl. I had GT500 axlebacks. After a while it got a little louder, but I wanted more. Switched to Borlas. My newly married wife hated the loudness of my GTO, but yet has adapted with zero complaints to the S-Types

And what happens when the Borla isn't loud enough after time!!!!!!????? For under $300 shipped, the GT500's are a bargain.

I thought so too... But the gt500s I had satisfied me a few months. The borlas I had for 2 years. Best exhaust I've had, owned, and heard. I have the full catback.

Wasn't tooooo bad if we save up and in context of the whole car. It's a worthwhile investment.

I hear ya Diva. But with my dear Wifey it's one step at a time. I was really surprised when she OK'ed the GT500's.
