Question for automatic 5.0 owners.

I was rolling down a fairly steep driveway the other day and when it hit the gas the trans kind of clunked into gear. This happened twice when rolling down hill off the gas and then getting back on it.

Anyone else experience this?

When I have rolled up to a (almost) stop a couple times, the accelerated, the car has slammed into gear. I believe it has to do with the tranny being "in between" a shift at the time. (IMO)
I think it will be part of the "nature of the beast". and it IS a BEAST

You nailed it, I guess it is normal. I have not had an automatic car in years so I am not used to it yet.

Thanks!

The more you drive, the better the transmission will get at predicting your driving behavior and shifting accordingly.

I have 1500+ on it now , and like another post said,--it shifts before redline (6500 +or-) so I guess only a tune would change that. ( It doesn't have a memory of me driving it too easy lol)

Or could it be the tension on the U joints being reversed? From slowing to speeding?

I've noticed this on my V-6 Automatic. I think its just slack in the drive train. A normal thing.
