Tell the dealer to remove it or the deal is dead and watch it go away.

Advertising fee is something that is on EVERY invoice. There is no way to get rid of it. I'm sure some of our dealer friends will chime in soon to reassure you.

Yup, you'll see a $62.88 fuel charge and a $596 ADV assessment, at least that is what it is for me. It's built in to the invoice price and you'll see it on your Vehicle Order Confirmation. It's normal and everyone pays it.

Unless you buy a used vehicle!

This makes reason number 6 why I won't buy a new car.

An Advertisement Fee is something that Ford charges dealers, so a dealer is not going to remove it from the invoice.

Every dealership has to pay Ford a percentage of the advertising cost for their cars in that specific region. Ford estimates how many cars they expect to sell, and how much it's going to cost to run all of their various advertisements and promotions for that car, and then adds a percentage of that to the invoice of the car.

It's something that's built into every invoice of every new car sold. How much it is depends on the region you live in, but everyone pays it.

This...my local dealer had the car I wanted but wouldn't remove it...they said they wouldn't budge on it...called a dealer an hour away told them if they ate it they had a deal. Not only did they take care of it, I also got a black premium 5.0 with the 3.55 gears for less than the local dealer one with the standard gears.

When I negotiate a car deal, I negotiate "out the door" deals and don't worry about fees.

+1. I also was hesitant about the ADV fees, but that's how it is these days. We all have to pay.

You'd think that with all those fees being charged that they would have more than one commercial for the 2013's.

Don't forget advertising also includes brochures, magazines, radio...

Mustangs don't need commercials.

I believe the ADV fees also include a portion of the public incentives you're getting off on the car, as well as others in your region.

While I paid the ADV fee on my new order, I discussed with my dealer about it and got discounts on other options (e.g., 3.55s, comfort package).

Exactly. Dealers can move the numbers to other things. Trade ins, options etc.... My friend owned a few different car lots
