Question about miles on new Mustang?
Just wanted to know if anyone has experienced this. Salesman called to say my mustang is in but when they unloaded from truck it already had 49 miles on it. Can't wait to see it but not to thrilled
with the 49 miles. Explanation was probably testing by Ford.
Have to work tonight but will pick up tomorrow after work. Will try to post pics.

I was told new cars from Ford are guaranteed to have less than 25 miles. but my dealer could be wrong. That does seem to be a lot for just Ford testing, my guess is they did some "testing" themselves at the dealer.
Mine had 7 miles on it off the truck.

Ouch. Yeah, sadly it was probably selected by Ford for thorough QA. I think it'll have one of those QA stickers. I remember when I got my V6 back in '04 I think it had... 0.7 miles? 1.7 miles? Something ridiculous like that. It was a late model year production V6.
I feel your pain though. I know I wouldn't want to take an order and get a new car with any more than 10 miles on it, and I'm hoping for an odometer reading not unlike what I got on my old V6, but who can say when the dealer has it in their inventory for a few hours and it's the first '11 GT they get.

Wife's '08 Escape had a card hanging from the dash that said it was a QA vehicle and driven X miles before being released. I can't remember, but it seems like it was either 11 or 17 miles.

Good for those rings! But yeah, I hear ya, this is why I haven't run to a Ford dealership to test drive a 5.0 or a V6 or a Shelby. I'm not going to buy one when I already have one on order, and it would just be ringing up more miles on someone's future car.

I think mine had 14 miles on it. I felt the tread on the rear tires and they still had the little long things from the mold on them, so i knew 'no burn outs were done'. LOL!!!

I'd actually be more worried if someone ran up 49 miles on the car and didn't floor it.
My only concern would be if someone mangled up and beat down the clutch, but I expect the warranty will cover that if it breaks any time soon. And like they say, there is the obligatory ding/dent/scratch inspection, but that goes for any car, 49 miles or 4.9 miles or even 0.0 miles, the car should be inspected before purchase.

That's besides the point. HE bought the car for HIM. Unless there was a valid reason (like Ford extensive testing), why shouldn't be bummed about it?
Huh, and you guys would want someone flooring your new car when it has less than 50 miles? OKAY.
