Question about areodynamics
If those are functional and the only way of latching the hood, then they are not rice. Those look to be the way you latch the hood, maybe I'm wrong... but those don't look "rice"... they don't have the rice looking wires protuding from under the hood.
Yup...
if they aren't functional... but there is an inverse relationship between the age of the Mustang and the ricer outcome look of fake or non-functioning hoodpins. Personally, anything from the 70's or 80's could have even fake hood pins to try and get the eye away from the boringness of the actual car... talk about a lost couple decades there for Mustangs. 2005 and on they started to look good... the lates mid to late 60's looked GREAT! 2011, hands down best looking Mustang EVER...unless someone blows it by fake hoodpins.
To each their own... you obviously love "the look" and I despise them. So be it.

What is the deal with the taste police?!? If you want hood pins and YOU like how they look then who cares what others think? The high school mentality of some people is a mystery to me (unless they really are still in high school).

You keep changing your theory... first it was 99.9% of cars with them are ricers. Then it was just the wired hood pins. Then it was just the ones with the newer make. With that, you took your time to diss Steeda, then a 69 Mach 1, 67 GT500, and a GT350 (also hinted towards the '08 KR!) by calling them rice. On top of that everything from the 70's - 90's mustang looked bad?

I'm not a fanboy- and I continuously knock Ford and even the mustang at times where I can see improvement- but you CLEARLY have NO idea on the history of a Mustang.
And for the record I don't 'love the look'. But I understand it as the whole thing with the mustang is that it's one of the most mod worthy cars to date- People can do whatever they want. Hood pins originated on a Mustang, it's a retro cue that some owners base their styling on. To hate that heavily on it shows your ineptitude.
putting hood pins on a car that doesn't need them is a lot like putting on those quarter window scoops. Neither are usually doing anything and both sounded like a good idea back in '05. Every time I see those scoops now I cringe a little.

You want to pin or fart can your mustang. go ahead. To each their own... everyone has their own taste... have at it.
You turn then counter clockwise to unlatch and then you pop the hood normaly from inside the car and undo the safty release in the front.
Exactly - pins are a racer safety item in case the stock hood latch comes loose at 120 mph, so the driver is not blinded by the hood flying open. Hence the racer look when applied to a street machine. That's why I always liked the Corvette approach where the hood opens forward - no worries about the hood flying up!
back to the original question --
Anything that adds down-force will (generally) also add drag -- so if the aero mods are mostly there for down-force (actually looks) then they probably don't help reduce drag any
It is the same for airplanes (well, sort of backwards) -- anything that increases lift also increases drag

it's all looks... +1, these companies don't have air tunnels and research $ to make any difference... they sell whatever people will buy and whatever people "think" will make their car look faster or look better. I mean.... if they can sell cheezy hood pins... they can pretty much sell anything for a car.
Will it turn your Mustang into a Ferrarri 458 aero package? No... but our packages will help for high speed aero.
Any of you who have been on the board long enough have probably seen posts by some complaining our stuff doesnt necessarily "look" as nice as others out there. Thats because we design for aerodynamic improvement first, looks secondary. Sometimes we've nailed both, but aero always comes first with our stuff.
Except for we have actually used FORD's aerodynamic labs for testing. That is why we claim aero benefits from our components. Because we've tested them to make sure they work.
