Question: 2011GT with hood scoop and racing stripe...

Short Version:

I want to know if the factory over-the-top racing stripe goes over the factory hood scoop or does the scoop go over the stripe?

Long Version:

In Canada, you can only get the hood scoop as a stand alone option when it is dealer installed. You can either get the over-the-top stripe as a factory or dealer option, with the dealer option being much more expensive. So if it goes over the scoop it makes more sense that you don't order the stripe from the factory. I've looked but can't find any pics.

Disclamer:

Yeah, I know that the scoop isn't functional but I like the look. So please keep this to the question asked and not whether you like the scoop or not. Unless you're ponying up the $40G for my car.

That is a good question, and I'd be interested in the answer, also. But the anti-scoop bias is strong here, so I have my doubts that you will get an answer.

F that. I love the scoop, and I've seen picks of others with them on here.

I couldn't be happier with the scoop+stripe combo. I get more looks at the car then my buddy with a $75k M3.

I like the scoop but it needs a bondo job around the seams to get rid of that "stuck on with chewing gum"look. As for the stripes from factory or dealer, thats a tough one as the scoops are rare and the striping even more rare. Best to ask your dealer i think.

My plan is similar; except Kona Blue with a black stripe.

Just to let you know as a fellow CAW 707 member, the hood scoop is NOT "dealer installed". It's done at the factory where I'm quite sure they ship it off site to get done just like we do with the Edge Sport!

And next week(don't know what shift you're on), look for a Sterling Silver GT with the Brembo package in the parking lot! That's me!!! ETA is the 11th, so we'll see when I actually get it!!!!

I'm on vacation this week but I'll keep an eye out for it.

As far as the scoop goes I'm under the impression that if you order the GT Accessory Pack 4 that it's put on at VPC but the problem for me is that I want the rear view camera so I can't get the accessory pack so according to the dealer they have to order the scoop seperately, paint and install it.

Which, TBH, I'm not too keen on.

Sparky, I have to admit, i really wanted the rear view camera. but living without it is no different then driving for the past 20 years, so i dont realy miss it.. I talked to a friend of mine that does Car electronics, he said we can install one and get it to sync up with the EP screen with no issues.. he also stated we can "break it" to be able to do anything while car is in motion, including watching DVD's

I have a 2 car garage but one side is my workshop and I would prefer to have the camera so that I don't end up backing over one of my kid's bikes/skateboards, etc. Generally speaking they listen and don't leave stuff lying around but it's better to prevent an accident than to lay a beating after the fact lol .

Besides I actually like the rearview camera spoiler better than the pedestal. Now, if they moved the camera to the trunk it would solve both problems...I could live with the pedestal if I had to...
