Proud to be a Mustang brother

Forgive me if this is the wrong forums, but...

I love being a Mustanger and dearly love my 2010 GT. I'm also proud to be a member of this forum. Why do I bring this up? Because I browse the camaro5 forum now and then, mainly to look at the pics. But my goodness, so many of the folks in that group are just real jerks. God help you if you voice even the smallest complaint, however legitimate it may be, about your new Camaro on that forum. You'll quickly find yourself being ripped apart and quickly shunned. And the mere mention of anything good about Mustang will just about get you banned from the site.

Thankfully, I haven't really seen that kind of attitude here or at any of the other Mustang forums I frequent. Maybe we're just more civilized or maybe it's because Camaro fans have had to do without for so long that their skivvies are still twisted. Either way, it's just a small reminder of why it's so good to be part of the Mustang brotherhood.

Lol the last part is somewhat true. They've had to do without for so long...and what finally showed up was a pretty big let down (IMO). It's like going away overseas for a year and coming home to your wife and she's gained 50 pounds and in bed it's the same old same old: she comes/goes quick, but you're left wanting more.

Whereas the Mustang has been there for you all along, doing everything pretty well, instead of excelling in one small area, while coming up short in others.

That would make me snappy/irritable when someone comes into my house bragging about how their wife is great at everything and puts a smile on their face, when I wife is fast and boring in bed and that's all she's good for.

Did I take that too far? Lol...

Unfortunately I have found the Corvette crowd to be worse than the Scumaro crowd.

That's because they're mostly older white guys going through mid-life crises. Same rules apply: they're irritable because their junk doesn't work the same anymore so they have to buy expensive 2-seat sportscars (which they probably can't even get in to...but deal with it for a few years until they snap out of it...or their joints ache so bad they can't take it anymore), to compensate.

I know I know, the stereotype isn't alwaysss true, but most of the time you guys knowww it is. :P

Agreed..

And just like any other group, 10% of the group make the entire group look bad...

Good point! It's just that you don't see this kind of stuff going on in this group...

Looks like the Camaro people are scared and "let down" by the new Camaro. They are going to be even more depressed when the Mustang's new engines come out next year.

Yes yes I know. But I also have a really good family friend who owned (and actually tracked) a Vette. He's in his 50s and just retired from the police force, and after retirement he traded his Vette for a brand new Accord sedan because he and his wife hated getting in and out of it. Haha...I know not everyone is that stereotype, and not all Camaro owners are mullet sporting Budweiser drinkers. Of course they aren't. But I visit Camaro5 every now and then as well, and it's true. Even when Mustang owners say something GOOD about the Camaro their reaction is "what do you know, you drive a Mustang" blahblahblah.

Meh. I met some cool Camaro guys at the strip in Sac a couple weeks ago. They're not all bad of course. And living in the Bay Area, I'll tell you I cannot stand a lot of the certain group that drive Mustangs around here. I feel bad for those cars, most of them 5.0s. I wish I could take them off their hands and build/treat them right!!

My father has a 78 25th anniv edition vette. Prior to having a Mustang I would go to a lot of the local cruise nights in it and got to know quite a few of the local Corvette boys. Well when I picked up the Mustang and went to the first cruise night with it I quickly found out they liked my vette far more than they liked me. I was ignored and walked away from quite a few times by people who I had known for years, it was really sad.

The way I look at it is, we are all "Car Guy's" (Please see Barry Meguiar's definition). It is all about the hobby and the community, not about nit picking over who car is better and the small stuff.

As a whole the automotive community is great but for one reason or another some of these GM boys really have their you know what up their you know where sideways.

Not all the Camaro guys over there are idiots. Seems most of the newer (age wise) or 1st time owners are the ones causing trouble. I tend to ignore those. Some are good guys. This site has it's share of idiots as well....
