Prop Rash - Is it Common?
Prop Rash - Is it Common?
Guys & Gals,
I'm bringing her into the shop next week for a few issues, including some damage to the plastic piece that holds the hood prop due to a bad hood alignment. I was wondering if prop rash is prevalent amongst everyone and how bad it is for you. I have marks throughout the entire area where the prop rests.
Thanks,

Mine has it...for whatever reason, it doesn't bother me one bit!
I suppose if I was keeping the car sealed in plastic to be enjoyed by future generations, I would be upset about it....but otherwise, "meh."
Good luck with warranty!

I had scrape-age on my 2011, despite wrapping the prop rod with rubber at the scraping point. So the first thing I bought for my 2012 was hood struts and now that scraping rod sits in the corner of my garage.
