Is it possible to add power steering adjustment?

So, I was in my buddy's 2014 pony package v6, and I saw that he could adjust the power steering sensitivity (normal, sport). I thought that was only an option on the cars that got the performance package, but it appears that it's standard now.

Mine didn't come with this option. Is this something that can be added with a software update? Does it require hardware / mechanical changes?

It came standard starting in 2012 so only 2010 and 2011 cars are missing it. Not sure what all actual parts that entailed but would guess it's way, way more cost than would ever make it worth it.

Depends on what car you have. If you have a 2011, you just need a 2012+ instrument cluster. If you have a 2010, then there is a lot more to it, as the 2010 only has a hydraulic steering, not an electric one. 05-09 is a lot more complicated and probably not worth the effort.

Know anywhere that sells the updated instrument panels?

its possible with electric steering mustangs, the settings basically increases or decreases the amount of electric to steering to give us "sport" or "comfort" feel

as for the cluster...

That's a 2011 cluster, would need 2012+ right? Will the 2013 and 2014 be a direct fit?

Any guides for the install?

Yea, i have 2011. So I need the 12 cluster? Did they actually change things between the years, or is simply a software update?

First check here:

https://themustangsource.com/f803/re...luster-529167/

Check here if you want all the stuff these guys have gone through to do this:

https://themustangsource.com/f803/13...trofit-514651/

You should be able to get a 2012 cluster if it has the option for the steering feel and it should be pretty much plug and play once you update the as built, guys chime in and correct me if I'm wrong.

You could also go the route these guys are going to add the LCD from the 13MY or 14MY but that is much more involved.

how hard it is to add? no idea.

It is a "standard" option if you got the premium model over the base model.

I don't think it's that big of a difference. Sport mode is OK, comfort is nice on long trips, but at the end if the day not much difference between the three. Now adjustable ratios would be cool...

well... I have the premium MCA and performance pack on my car... but as I recall it, you need the 4" display in the instrument cluster to change the setting and that is an upgrade from the base to the premium. I could be wrong and haven't verified it. but i'm pretty sure, yes.

maybe they changed it from the 11 and the 14 model....

I'm pretty sure every 2014 Mustang has it. I have the basic display and I have it, V6 base, perf and tech package.

I don't know if it's worth it for "sport" mode but it's certainly worth it for "comfort." I have a base '14 GT and when I discovered the adjustable steering, I immediately switched it to "sport." Because it's a Mustang, right? Lol.... I realized after about 4-5 months that I HATE sport mode for everyday driving. It really contributed to my feeling that the Mustang was just too dang heavy and clumsy. "Comfort" mode makes the car so flickable in everyday driving. I've noticed a little increase in tire wear since switching to "comfort" but otherwise...totally worth it.

I did the same lol. Sport tightened up the steering. Great right?? Except the rear end now felt even more floaty. I use Comfort on longer drives, but just leave it in Standard for daily driving.

I commute like 130 miles a day on mostly interstate. "Comfort" is my friend!
