Pony Package Floor mats

Deysha- I hope your reading this. So I picked up my new V6 Pony Package yesterday and after I left the dealership I noticed 2 things. The first was that the car did not have any rear floor mats. The second was that the Pony Package is supposed to come with a set of Tri-Bar Logo mats. Mine came with black mats with the running horse logo in the lower corner. My dealer says that the car does not come with rear floor mats. So I guess I have to go out now and buy an entire new set of floor mats just to get rear floor mats.

I'm still waiting on an answer regarding the Tri-Bar logo mats. Anyone else here get the Pony Package with rear mats or mats with the Tri-Bar Logo when they bought the PP V6?

I'm pretty sure they don't come with rear mats. I'd call or go back and question them on the front mats though.

No rear mats. I think it's a stupid cost saving measure, but then again, so is the quality of the factory front Ford floor mats. The passenger side mat has no retention devices, and every time someone got in/out of my car, the mat moved, sometimes wedging up against the kick panel and knocking it off.

Just order some Lloyds Tri-bar Pony logo mats and be done with it all.

To be honest, I would not be surprised if Ford purposely goes cheap on the mats for more than cost savings. Ford knows the strength of the Ford Mustang aftermarket, so maybe their thought is that if you don't like the factory mats, you'll put new ones in anyway, so why spend too much giving you any.

You should definitely demand it from the dealer

My guess is your car was sitting on the lot and not custom order was it?

Sal is correct, 2010-2012 Mustangs do NOT come with rear floormats. However, I picked up a full set of Lloyd tri-bar mats, with black rears (no logo on the rears). They look and fit great, I think I paid around $100 from AutoAnything.com, no tax, free shipping. And, since I did it as soon as I purchased my new GT last year, I sold my original 'like new' front plain black mats on eBay for $40, which was cool.

Thanks for the advice. I was just about to but the Lloyd tri bar logo mats with the dead pedal cover on blue oval industries.

I've bought 3 new Mustangs over the years and none of them came with rear mats. The front mats were cheap crap trash. We use the mats that came with my current car to put our shoes on when we come in the house. This is the last time I order a car and get the factory floor mats.

If you ordered a 2012 with pony package, it came with the right mats. The equipment listing was a mistake. You might get Ford to get them for you since it was listed incorrectly, but technically Ford doesn't even sell the tri-bar anymore. Your best bet is the blue oval company and you can find on eBay. They sell the Lloyd mat with tri-bar and it has the dead pedal pad, plus they go up the firewall. Most of the Lloyd's now match the factory versions, shorter and no dead pedal. Here is the link.

That is exactly what I ordered on Saturday night. The tri-bar pony logo with dead pedal flap. I got them from blue oval industries.
I asked my dealer but he said the mats I got were the right one with no further explanation.

I think you'll like the Lloyd's better anyway, they are much better mats. It will be a significant upgrade. I actually custom ordered the LUXE version, really thick, but no logo. But they are the same bigger cut and I really like them. I think you'll be pleased. The only thing to be aware of is that your factory mats are more of a charcoal and the Lloyd's with the logo are jet black. I have the tr-bar logo trunk mat and it looks great, and it's the jet black color.

He is a photo from another thread on the same subject recently posted.

Hello dball584,

Is that image from ford.com? This is the info I have for the 202A:
Equipment Group 202A
• V6 Pony Package
– 18" polished aluminum wheels
– Automatic headlamps
– Body-color exterior mirror caps
– Fog lamps
– Lower bodyside “Mustang” tape stripe
– Pony fender badges
– Premium floor mats with embroidered Pony logo
– Rear decklid spoiler
– Unique Pony grille with chrome corral

Also, your vehicle does not come with rear mats. I hope this helps.

The image at the top of the thread is a screen shot I took on from Ford.com while building a mustang coupe pony package and reviewing the options. It clearly states Tri-Bar Pony logo Floor mats. I got the floor mats with the pony logo on the lower corner of the mat. I was expecting the Tr-bar log.... Dealer said what I got is correct. Not sure what else to do.

I figured that is probably the case and not much could be done.
