Pirrelli P Zero Again or Hancock Ventus Noble 2?

Hey folks any opinions on these two tires?

Our 2014 GT needs new tires and the price is about the same but the tire dealer I go to really seems to think the Nobles are a better deal because of the 50,000 warranty.

Any opinions? We are in FL, no snow to deal with.....

Thx
Tom

The Pirellis aren't bad. I don't have any complaints about mine. I couldn't speak to the hankooks because I've never run a set. Personally I'm going to go with Firehawks when my Pirellis wear out. I had a set of Firehawks on my last car and they turned out to be really good tires. The only downside is that they are one directional so you have to be careful when rotating them that you don't switch a tire from one side to the other.

I run cooper's in the winter, very solid tire and handles well.

I had the P-Zeros on my 11 from the factory. they got noisy at about 10,000 mile and had to replace them at about 22,000 mile. I rotating them as required and my alignment was dead on. I would go with Hankooks, a friend has the ventus nobles and likes them, very quiet ride. These are gonna replace my Micheilin Sports on my 13.

I wouldn't pay money for Pirelli tires. Hell, I wouldn't even use them if I got them for free. Next year I'm buying new summer tires, the stock Pirellis are just not very good.

This, to be put on a sports car and when you get them hot they turn greasey and orange peel, that's no good.

A set of 4 255/35/19 Pirelli's is roughly $1100, any other summer tire that will out perform them are anywhere from 800-900 for a set of 4, why would you even stick with the Pirelli's?

Not going with 255 size, going to stay with factory spec. Can get a set of Nankook VN2s for 748 out the door....will probably do that now...

235? If you are on 19's you can go much bigger and actually have some grip.

I read some OK reviews of the Cooper, but also read this:

"I work for a national tire retailer in Canada. We sell Cooper tire and I can tell you that they are junk. We balance a set of four on a road force machine and the customer returns 3 days later with a shimmy and the rim/tires are out about 1oz per assembly. They are a nightmare. Michelin, BFG and even Goodyears are the way to go. Trust me. BTW. I recommend to stick with what the factory puts on your vehicle because they installed them for a reason."

So it's really hard to know when you aren't experienced in all of this...

To say "stick with OEM because they know what they are doing" is the most garbage statement of all time. If that were the case no track pack or Boss owner would run better pads and tires for RR or auto-x, they wouldn't change fluids because the OEM stuff is inferior, they wouldn't change shifters etc. Ford picked Pirelli because they were the lowest bidder, not because they were the best tire for the job.

Yeah his statement about OEM is not true, but his bad experience with the Cooper is a bit sobering.
