Not Mission Critical but a very good idea. The drop will shift your axle slightly off-center.

Added bonus is that the new Panhard will firm up the handling of the rear. I run the Maximum Motorsports one and love it.

Adjustable PHB's are what I call recommended, not required. Some cars end up skewed from lowering, some don't (likely because they were a touch off at stock height and dropping them squared them up).

That said, there is some handling benefit from an upgraded PHB anyway, as you get rid of the rubber bushings that actually have notches cut out of them to make them flex! Not exactly idea for the best located body/axle relationship. Done as a compromise for ride quality.

I carry about 100 (ok more like 10) different types of PHB's. I usually recommend one of the UMI pieces as they make the biggest variety of different types. And offer easy on-car adjustment on many.

Do you believe other suspension items must be replaced because lowering the cars puts strain or stretches them beyond what they were meant for stock?

Shocks/Struts depending on how low and what spring rates.

You'll be just fine with Steeda Springs.

When I lowered my car, I got the steeda springs, eibach camber bolts for the fronts, J&M lower control arms and adjustable panhard bar and the car sits and performs perfectly with just those minor suspension upgrades. The shocks I havent replaced yet, since the car only has 6700 miles on it, but will eventually replace it (Might as well use up whats new, if you know what I mean)

I think eventually it all comes down to, what do you want from your car and how do expect to drive it, are you going to be racing on the weekends or stomping around on a road course or is it just going to be a daily driver or all of the above. Once you decide on what you want to do, then you can pick and choose which parts to replace or not dependeing on your driving needs.

That will be my choice, with the installation of Steeda Springs.

I'm actually leaning towards the Ultralite Springs, as I will use the car as my daily driver. I also communicated with Gus from Steeda, which also recommended the Ultralites for my particular application, although both spring sets are daily driver friendly.

Intervention... Would you have a picture of the car parked? I would like to see the actual difference/drop, which would be easier to determine not in motion. Thanks so much!

Andy,

Can you explain why Gus recommended the Ultralites?

Roberto:

I explained to Gus that my vehicle would be my daily driver, and that I am not (yet) planning to take it to any track events. He said that both springs are daily driver friendly, but the Ultralite Springs are a bit softer than the Sport Springs. The ride comfort is a hair better with the Ultralites, but in return the Sport Springs offer a hair more handling.

Hope this helps...

Still trying to decide which set of springs I want to go with... Steeda Ultralites or Sport.

Any other thoughts, comments or experiences with either set of springs?

Any and all help is greatly appreciated!

I'm deciding to just stay stock for now. The brembo package is amazing and I love it. I use my car as a DD and and I live in Northern VA. Construction everywhere, a drive to DC is a pothole heaven. If I lowered it even an inch, I think I'd be in serious trouble.

Sometimes, some things are left the way they came with.
