Pics: My Lava 2012 GT and Mods

As you can see in the pics and my sig, I have already installed Polk audio speakers, nav screen protector, real japanese cherry wood trim, gt/cs front facia with fogs, and GT hid kit. I am planning to use the regular GT HID fogs on very dark lonely roads, but they do look great. The wood does not look as good in pics, but it is amazing in person.

Future mods include tinted windows and subwoofer. I will post more pics in the daylight when I have time to take them.
It is an amazing car. It runs and shifts perfectly, and I could not be happier.

Thanks. I love how the wood grain came out. It is a stick on, and there are several companies to choose from in a large number of styles from wood to metal and carbon fiber. I like the warm feeling that wood gives though. CarId had the kit that I got.

I was skeptical when you first floated the wood idea, but I have to admit it looks pretty freakin' sweet with that color combo. I don't think it would be for me personally, but that's because it would look really out of place in my car I think.

I think that if I were in the market for a 2012 Mustang, I would also get a Lava Red GT with that woodgrain.

The interior looks awesome.

I know you said a lot of companies make them, but yours is the "flushest" I've seen. So what website did you buy yours from?

My thoughts also...definitely turned out better than I was envisioning.

Thanks everyone. I am happy to be the person who tries out odd ideas (after some research) like the wood trim. I have some more research to do before I decide what route I want to go with the sub, but I do already have some ideas. I will be sure to let you know about which ones do choose, as well as any other mods.

Anyone who has not cleaned and conditioned your leather yet, I found that it really helps.

Next mods: Sub, tinted windows, and clearbra.

Wow, the wood really transforms the interior into a beautiful, upscale environment. I've been searching for good pics like this to help decide whether to do this to my '11 GT, and now I'm convinced!

Woodgrain looks very good with the lava. Adds even more beauty to the beast! Was this mod DIY or did you have it done at a shop?

Depending on use, I've heard great things about the accompanying MM sub to your speakers - I installed a MM 12" in a Nissan Altima with the MM speakers - it was a little light for my taste but very tight and warm, I imagine it would've sounded perfect in a 2-door car with a smaller backseat and a more optimal box. Else, I've had a great 6 years with my JL W3 (ideally I'd get a W6) - plenty of output, tight, and deep. Hopefully you won't have to EQ out all the rattles as your car is newer . With the MM's, did you run any line converters or re-EQ? Or just feed off the factory unit? From what I've seen you'll need to do some re-EQ as the factory output is optimized for the Shaker 500 and definitely not a subwoofer. Keep us informed, your mods are very tasteful and I'm sure your system will sound great.
