Pic Request!
I am sure someone will make a painted rear bumper which will make the rear end look ten feet tall unless you lower the car two inches, which of course the designers have no way to force the engineers to change the ride height or suspension settings. So they needed to add the diffuser to the bumper so the higher trunklid (forced on them by engineering for better aero/MPG ) didn't look so high. Trust me, the plastic will go away in the real world.
I'm also not a fan of how the taillights are either, but there's nothing we can do about that.
Thanks for finding the pic for me. I guess the main reason I like the V6 front end better is the lack of fog lights in the grill. I'm looking forward to seeing with Shelby comes out with for the 2010 since I might just swap out the GT front end for the Shelby, or hell, I might just buy a Shelby GT. (or GT-350
)

No, what I meant was, the picture above my original message was taken standing next to the car, whereas the one referenced earlier was taken with the camera on the ground and lit from the bottom
So with your eyes fully open, and about 5 feet above the ground, with the sun above you, the rear diffuser black plastic won't be as noticeable as if you were laying on the ground with a 1,000,000 candlepower flashlight beaming on the bumper.
My take is, if you don't like it, don't buy it. I have been watching the various burnout videos on YouTube, and the tailights look awesome and the black plastic is a non-issue.
