PET PEEVE...Bump
Why is Ford still putting the old pony, after such hoopla over the 2010 Pony, on the "2012" Boss? I know I have one more year of this on the 2013 Boss...cuz Ford won't fix it by then...BUT PLEASE FORD...No more mix matched Ponies on the 2014!!!!!!!!!

The Pony over the tri-bar is a classic mustang emblem. It makes perfect sense to use that emblem on the 2012 Boss as the car is supposed to be what the original Boss mustang attempted to do as well.
The overall design of the pony is still the same, just subtle differences.
Maybe I'm in the minority here, but to me, it's an emblem and if I don't like it or want something different I can always do so on my own accord.

I agree with TN. If they're going to buff the emblem, then change them all going forward to represent it. Don't half-*** it and only do one, then use the old one on other parts.

The Design has changed enough to know it can't be mixmatched...
Press release from 2009:
Curious about what the 2010 Ford Mustang looks like? Its new pony badge offers a clue. Like the upcoming restyled Mustang, the new pony is more defined, more muscular and sure to catch the eye of Mustang enthusiasts.
“It’s just a faster-looking steed,” said George Saridakis, Design manager for the 2010 Mustang.
A stronger, more dynamic pony badge with defined edges and crisper forms in a subtly toned tinted-chrome finish will charge across the grilles of the V-6 and GT versions of the 2010 Mustang. For the first time, a black-chrome version of the Mustang pony badge will accent the new GT grille.
“We wanted to give the Mustang pony a more realistic feel,” said Douglas Gaffka, chief designer for the 2010 Mustang. “We lifted the head to make the pony more proud, tipped the neck into the wind to give it a feeling of greater speed and better balance.
“It’s more chiseled and more defined and looks more like a wild horse,” Gaffka added. “It’s more realistic in terms of proportion to an actual Mustang.”

I didn't buy my Mustang to look at the pony. Ford wasted alot of money and time in the new pony. They even had to change the color for the 2011 GT's. If you ask me there were just a bunch stylists with nothing to do.

OP, I'm not sure what you mean. The mane on your tri-bar pic is different from either the 09 or the 10 according to your pics. It turns up slightly at the end - the others don't - unless that's a reflection.
