Ordered my Roush Cold Air Intake

Hey guys I bought myself a black friday gift

http://www.roushperformance.com/part...2010-2012.html

I can't wait to install it next weekend!!!!!!

Anyone have this installed? What are your opinions?

Also, anyone have it installed with GT500 mufflers? I can't wait to hear what it's going to sound like.

I ordered the Steeda Ultimate Induction kit (cold air and a tune) on black Friday - got about $150 off and couldn't pass that up. I was going to hold off until my 2014 was out of warranty but you have to get the deals while you can.

I thought I read that changing the cold air intake doesn't effect the warranty! I've even purchased extended warranty. Can someone please confirm?

It's not the intake - it's the tune that usually goes with it that Ford doesn't like. My guess is if they see the CAI they'll look for a tune in the computer if you are having engine problems.
You takes your chances - that's why i went with Steeda - they have a good record with safe tunes.

If you want to be 100% safe ... swap the Roush intake for Factory if you ever need to bring it in for service. I am sure Techs are instructed to make notes of any mods on vehicle .. even if you just bring it in for an oil change.

I know Jeep Dealer has a screen that comes up when I bring my Jeep in for service. Its called the Restrictions screen and is marked confidential. It indicates any dealer noted issues or modifications to the vehicle that would impact warranty. It will also notify dealer if warranty has been voided for any reason so they are aware before doing any work.

This is true. I brought my car in for its first oil change and on the RO it states "vehicle has aftermarket springs, shocks and struts."

Installed it last night and what a difference! Car sounds much better and gas pedal is much more responsive! Let's see if I truly will get better MPG as some claim. All this for under $200? Worth every penny.

Oh I did have a question about this CAI for anyone that has it....there was a foam flap that came with the Roush CAI that covers the hood air vent on the side of the CAI? What's the purpose for that? I have it installed now. Should I leave it on or take it off?

It's likely to prevent water from entering the hood vents and soaking the open element air filter.

To be honest I've been stomping on the gas pedal ever since I installed it cause I love the sound now even more, so I haven't really noticed an improvement in MPG.

I will pay close attention to see if MPG is effected at all.

I will post pics later as well.

I have noticed an increase in MPG. I'm getting an avg of 19MPG (70% street, 30% freeway). I used to get about 17 to 17.5 MPG.

1.5 to 2 MPG increase!

That's good news! Gotta say though with that open filter now and those dirty engine pix, you had better make sure to keep the filter cleaned regularly lol.

You gotta wonder why the engineers at Ford Motor never figured out this in the designing.
