Oil Filler tube extension Question

I have a question for those who have the v6 engine cover. The oil filler tube that comes with the cover has a lip about mid way on the neck. Does it go under the cover or on top of the cover?

Go to www.fordparts.com

Search for part number BR3Z 6N041-C Engine Intake Insulator (cover)
Then you can click on the illustration to see the position of the extension. It shows it goes on top of the cover.

Here is a picture of mine but i don't see any lip. Are you talking about from the factory or some add-on?
