Nurburgring trip (pic and Video)

Well I drove to the Nurnburgring yesterday and did four laps. WOW what a experience and wake up call. I have no driving skills! but had a blast. There were several wrecks and a few blown engine. I met a guy from Belgium with a nice 2011 Camaro I believe SLP ZL585 it was a special edition supercharged. He offered to take me on a lap in his car. That was one hell of a experience he has been driving the track for like 20 years and knew every turn. I thought for sure a few times he was pushing it a little to hard and we would end up wrecking but that didn't happen.
Here are a few pics and a video of my last lap. He had me follow him to help show me some of the lines. Even with him slowing down and waiting for me I could barely keep up LOL.
So next on this list is Hockenhiemring for driving school.

Another thing I learned is that I need to clean my car out and put all my stuff in a bag and tie it down. Thats my other camera, coffee cup, gps, and jacket flying around the car as I drive. At the end of the video I highlight the motorcycle wreck and the red car that spun out.

Congrats on the trip! One tip from me though (hardly an expert lol) would be get a lil closer to the wheel. Better than full arm extension and a more comfortable drive. Im surprised they let you lap without a helmet too!

Very cool, great place to test driving skills. I am amazed at the number of cars on track at the same time, that could get dicey in the corners. Thanks for the video.

Yes no helmet so people used them but they didn't required it. Thats for the advice CCTKing. You from Hawaii too? I'm from the big Island.

I was constantly checking my rear view some people were really pushing there cars and during my four laps there were at least 9 accidents and spin outs. One wreck was pretty bad a rent a race care put its *** end into a wall.

Driving school would be awesome too, not to nit pick, but it would break you of the habit of resting on the shifter and not having both hands on the wheel. Always hard to get into that after driving on the street in your DD.

If i have enough gas
But other than that i have a free weekend ahead so i just might.

But yea ots not cops i worry bout so much, rather the county police. Sometimes theyre cool about it if its a decent hour still but no cars are around. A certain few stratches are full of rubber trails from so many people havin a lil fun

Driving skills or not, that had to be a blast. I could tell by that big grin on your face at the end of the video. And, you did pass a mini van......JK.

I'm jealous.

It's a small world

I don't know him personally, although he posts on a popular UK based car enthusiast site, but I do know one of his friends who used to own a Challenger SRT/8 (now traded on a LR Discovery!!).
