Hi Jason,
Well she said its scheduled to build the week of April 16, she should know exactly what day by the end of this week. I ordered mine March 15th.
I'm in MA so if it builds that week I hope to see it by the first or second week of May.....if it lands at the dealer before May 5th the total Ford rebates will be $1000 according to the Ford marketing department. So fingers crossed!!
How about you?

Is this breaking news - that the rebate increased from $500 to $1,000?

Jason,
I called the Ford marketing dept looking for a 13 brouchure they told me none were available so I asked about current rebates. They told me the total 2013 Mustang rebate was $1000 and that you have to take delivery on or before May 5th, 2012.
My build is
2013 V6 Base
6 spd manual
Performance Package
Tech Package
Recaro Seats
race red
Total $26,160.00 before any rebates. So hopefully I can get that extra $1,000 off plus I have a $750 private cash offer that would net it down to $24,410 plus doc fees, tax,etc

Maybe it's your region (getting the $1,000 rebate). I just checked Ford.com again and for my zip, it's still $500. The 'old' $500 offer, according to the site, expired yesterday, but seems to be renewed through 7/2.

Jason,
Sticker on mine is $27,880.00 factory invoice $26,690.00. After some brief going back and forth we settled upon $26,160.00. I also called Ford again this morning for whatever reason the rebate is back to $500 here also and that runs to 7/2. I hope the **** thing arrives prior to 5/5 so I can use my $750 private cash with the $500 from Ford.

Nice build, I had that exact build at first then swapped over to DIB and the electronics pack. I too am spoiled hehe. I was shooting for a Shelby or a boss but this'll hold me over till after I get a house hebe.

Thanks man, you too. My dealer had a DIB GT Track in stock for about a week. It was a beautiful car, I'm just not a blue guy.
I was also contemplating a 2013 Shelby. Had the price not jumped, it would have been tempting. I'm with you though, trying to think down the road for the next house - have about 5 years to prepare for that, and didn't want a bad decision now to make things more difficult then. And for the money, what we're getting in a car is pretty phenomenal. The Shelby's a great value too, but ours may be even better.

I would have loved a GT but I figured I'd keep things $$ down and still get something unique. I now have to get to work on selling my 2010 Jeep Sahara! Shouldn't be an issue with the weather changing plenty of people love to get into a Jeep.
Do you have any mods in mind?

I'll stay mostly stock, but right off the bat I'm doing coil-overs (I'm thinking Multi-Pro-R1 from Eibach, plus adjustable panhard for the rear) and a Borla S-Type cat-back exhaust.
That's all for the near term. If the transmission gives me any trouble, I might get the Shelby one from Tremec, but that's down the road and hopefully not necessary.
You?
