Question Notch in rear rotor normal? Weird noise (2012 GT)

Today I started noticing an odd whistle/squeak noise, lasts briefly, seems to coincide with braking, especially on low speed turns.

I suspect it's brakes related...started looking for problems...took this pic of the rear rotor, is that notch/groove normal?

Any ideas? Hate going to the dealer. I still really like this car but it's developed a lot of squeaks, rattles etc that freak me out and hope they won't turn into bigger issues...

Pretty sure that's normal. They're done for balance i believe. My 10 has them too. With all the NVH stuff they do with the new cars its something else they do testing on and adjust accordingly.

Did some more driving today. It's a light squeak/squealing that occurs when starting from a stop, coming to a stop, and turning. Doesn't seem to occur above 30mph.

Noise occurs at low speeds (parking lots) even if there is zero brake application.

Could this be the brake tab issue? My car doesn't fall in the date range though.

Or the lower control arm TSB?

This noise is intermittent, I'm sure the dealer won't be able to replicate it if I take it in. Annoyed...

Right about at 22,000 miles now.

Had it in for service back in September, everything was ok at that time..

Hi PolishAmericanMustang,

I’d like to escalate this to the customer service manager of your area and have it looked into. Please make an appointment with your Ford dealer and PM me with your VIN, dealer, mileage, full name, and best daytime number.
