No politics please: Did you scrape your UAW quarter glass sticker?

There are good and bad things about the UAW... please don't discuss them here... Okay? Ok.

...my question is just on the basis of scraping it or leaving it for the sake of originality of the car.

In the future, you can bet that people (read: "morons" ) restoring these cars will be sticking replicas with 100x the care that the original was placed on the glass.

I think it's an ok looking sticker, it's a Ford oval too...I'm planning on leaving it. I really love this car and I suspect I'll have it for a long time. I think it's cool to preserve this stuff.

Thoughts? What other oddball original things are you saving on your car?

Removed mine and moved it to the corner of the windshield. I didn't want it under the tint. It is part of the car so I kept it.

Ahh.. good point about the tint.

So you were able to get it off in one piece?

I left it on there for the 1st 2 months until I got the windows tinted, and at that point it had to come off.

My car is a sticker free zone. I made sure the dealer didn't add any stickers or badges an the UAW and emissions exempt sticker were promptly removed.

mine did not have one. If it did I would of removed it.

I do not think these cars will be collected like the old ones. I really do not think the stickers will add value on these cars now or in the future. Plus if you are putting more then 10 thousand miles on the car no one will want to buy it or collect in the future any way.

I guess I missed that thread and I'm surprised that it had been brought up already. Nobody there was discussing the "part of the car" aspect that is important to some of us.

I dont remember seeing it honestly when I bought my car. I think my dealer removed when I picked it up.

I remember seeing the sticker the day the car was dropped at the dealership but they removed it when I went to pick it up.

What I would like to ask is, why keep it? It doesn't add anything to the car and frankly I think it is an eyesore and I seriously doubt it will add more value to the car if you think your car will be a collectible someday. Window sticker or a note from Ford saying they took your car for quality testing on the other hand is the stuff collectors go crazy about IMO.

I left mine on. Had the tint meister tint right over it. I kept it as sort of a tribute to the guys and girls that built the car.

Mine came off when I put the SHR louvers on and will shortly come off of the 6'er for the same reason.

Mine came straight off. I got tints done from the get go. Plus I do not drive around with stickers of any sort on my car, not even the oil change reminders I am capable of remembering that stuff. I think stickers make for a "tacky' appearance.

I don't have license plate surrounds with the dealers name either. I got a new car the other year and said "No stickers etc." when I got it they had put one of their dealer sticky things on the trunk and a license surround- I made them go and remove both and warned them if they damaged the paint I wouldn't accept the car!!! They don't pay me to advertise my purchase or their dealership!!
