I am 6'2" and have none of the problems of the OP; barring the parking brake lever is right where my thigh rests. I think the real question is how you have your seat back adjusted. If you are laying it back then you will have to move the base closer for your arm reach putting your knees closer. I sit straight up and have plenty of knee room (34.5" inseam) and have my arms with a comfortable bend when holding the wheel at 3 and 9 o'clock (perfect for shuffle steering).

So my question is: Are you doing a gangster lean with the seat back leaned back creating a gap for your upper body, that forces the seat closer to make up for the gap?

I'm 6 foot and have Recaros in my car. Seat bottom bolstering issue aside, I have a similar problem. To get in a position where my legs comfortably clear the steering wheel (big thighs) and my knees don't bang the wheel or column heel-toeing, I have to sit one click farther away from the wheel than my arms would like to be. I have the seatback almost vertical. I haven't come forward that last click on the seatback, which would be perfect for my arms as well, because of the tilt in the headrest in the Recaros. It is bent too far forward and if I click the seatback up one more, my head is on the headrest constantly, which I find annoying.

I've learned to live with it. I'm too big and heavy for the Recaros and I got them anyways, because they offer more benefit than detriment.

Very good point about the Recaros, I had forgotten about the distinctly different seat options and how that could alter the seating dynamics.

I have the stock seats with the power driver's seat, but have thought about buying the Recaros, guess I need to sit in them first.

I'm 6'3/250, and I find the Recaros in my Boss way more comfortable that the leather '1 person park bench' in my wife's 11 GT premium. Yes, they are a very pricey upgrade, but I wouldn't buy another Mustang w/o them.

LOL same here. One of the few benefits of being this size. The mustang fits me like a glove.

I understand. The Wifey is a towering 5'1". She loves the car, and has no problems getting situated in the drivers seat.

Tall People Problems
Did you sit in the car before you bought it? If you did then you saw it coming.
5'8 and I fit fine, I sometimes bring the seat up a bit.

Because of the lack of telescopic steering wheel I have to move my seat where it is comfortable to reach the wheel, but then my knees are extremely close to the dash.

Even more annoying is that the room to the right of my right leg is almost nonexistant. My knee rests on the center console and has no room to move around. When I move my foot from brake to gas and back my knee bangs the console.

I know some people have put cushion pads on the console for this, But it's not so much how hard the console is, but rather that it encroaches on my space. A pad wouldn't solve the lack of room to the right of the knee.

It's as if Ford engineers never actually sat in the driver seat and thought about ergonomics.

I'm 6'0" btw.

It's driving me crazy why does the center console have to be so **** wide. Any solution for this??
KG I am 6'-9" tall and I am use to fitting into automobiles.....basically for my I have to wear a vehicle....I normally judge them based on ease of entering and exiting.....My 2014 V6 Manual....I like sitting somewhat close...in fact I have my seat forward about an 1-1/2" from the back setting to be comfortable. Plenty of headroom.....I can not stand the Fusions and Taurus are ok....
