Iv'e definitely been hearing mostly negative reviews about this game. I was waiting for GT5 to help me decide between an Xbox or a PS3 when I get home. It looks like the Xbox and Forza 3 is the better option.

I have played all the previous GTs and it sounds like they somehow managed to keep all of the same things that made the previous games so annoying (terrible menus, unbalanced car selection etc) even though it took 5 years to produce.

It's not as pretty as GT5 and the physics aren't as advanced, but Forza 3 is definitely the more cohesive product. It also has an excellent car list and receives regular updates from the developer as well. It also plays well with just the standard controller. The damage system is light years ahead of GT5 and the tuning options are much more in depth.

One thing you can count on is that Turn 10 is going to set a focused goal and release a new game every two years. I fully expect to see Forza 4 next fall. Even though I believe the Xbox is inferior as an entertainment system compared to the PS3, if you want the definitive racing game for this generation then look no further than Forza 3.

Here are a few shots of the '71 Mach 1 I took in photo mode. I edited them in Photoshop to add clarity, sharpness and to adjust the white balance.

Got my GT5 gotta say i was VERY disappointed with the damkn car sounds, everything sounds like a **** civic, how many years does it take to get cars that actually sound like cars and not sewing machines? other than the the game is pretty good.

thats always been my beef with GT5. The cars look absolutely stunning. And then they sound nothing like they do in real life.

To those that bought it, is the elevator-jazz music back?

Grabber Blue, Yellow and Green. There are also non-grabber versions of those colors (the yellow is just like the one in Gone in 60 Seconds). That's all I remember off the top of my head.

I disagree with everthing but that forza 3 is a complete better game. GT5 has tried to flat out copy and still come up short. Its a lt better then prologue but forza is better in graphics and physics. There are some graphical tricks on some tracks that make them look good but tyhe cars still look odd as hell. Those same tricks on the tracks make seeing upcoming corners hard to see. That said I am still playing it as its the only other game besides forza that requires skill.

Does PS3 now have downloadable content so maybe they will add a car pack like Xbox does for a cost ?
f you think that forza and gt5 are anything like those others you listed, you have never played them.

Well I have not played GT5 but I have played Forza , Project Gotham, and gameFlyed most of the others and my bad for lumping them all together as they are not burnout being a point and shoot game while test drive is more a social game and not a true driving sim.

Yeah, I'm hearing GT5 is pretty disappointing, especially considering how long it took to develop (6 years or so) and the perpetual delays.

Those pics of the Mach are pretty cool, but I have heard that only the 200 or so "premium" cars look that detailed, and that most of the "standard" cars have much less detail and basically look the same as in the previous game.

GT5 > poop > Forza

GT series has been around much longer than the Forza series. They aren't copying anyone.

Yes, that is correct. The other 800 cars are direct ports from GT4, with their textures uncompressed. Twenty percent of the premium cars are from GT5 Prologue, and several of them are re-skins of the same model (NASCAR cars).
