New Steed added to the Garage

Earlier this week I pulled the trigger on a 2010 V6 Premium. As much as I would have loved to have a 2011 V6, I could not justify the additional cost. Between the difference in price between a '10 & '11 V6 Premium plus the rebates offered on the '10 made my decision easy. It's got the 5-speed manual as well as the pony package. So far I am really enjoying it. Soon I will be "upgrading" to some hand-me-down parts from a GT... Suspension parts as well as a dual exhaust setup. For now here is how she sits:

Congrats! It looks nice. Are you considering having the stripe removed?

Yes, I will probably remove that side stripe. I am not a fan. I am considering some over the top stripes though. I was thinking of doing dual 10" stripes in a dark blue color. Kind of a reverse-GT500 look.

Me either on the side stripes. I have a 2008 with the Pony Package and I had it back to the dealer within a week of buying it to remove the side stripes. I just think that everybody knows that it's a mustang without calling it out on stickers.

If I were going to stripe the top I'd also look at satin black or a dark gray color too. On the other hand, these two colors are the most common and seen everywhere. Just my input; it will look nice regardless of stripe color. Nice find.

Pretty much the same reasons I bought the '10... and still lovin' it 6 weeks later.

I didn't like that side stripe much either at first, but it's grown on me. I'd certainly take it off if the over-the-top stripe was a different color. But even if I didn't have an over-the-top I'd leave it on. The ones without look naked to me.

This is my 2008 that I'll be trading in on my 2011. From a distance, the absence of the side stripe actually makes the car look a little lower.

Here is a site I found with decent pre-cut stripes for the 2010 body style.

Nice looking Mustang. I ordered my 2011 V-6 without the side stripe. I agree with James, without the side stripe it does make the car look lower.

Nice looking wheels! Personally, I like the stripe, but YMMV. If you go with a dual exhaust, are you considering the Power Upgrade Package from FRPP? The extra ponies and tune seem to be a good thing.

No FRPP for me... the ~$1000 price tag for that kit is outrageous. I will be able to piece together much of the kit myself for a whole lot less that that. It's my DD, so I have no reason for a re-tune for premium fuel. The extra power is nice, but I already have a fast car to tinker with. I just like the look of the dual exhaust better, and using take-off GT parts will not make the exhaust sound too obnixous. From what I can find online, there are a couple videos of cars with this already done. While the sound is noticably different, it's not loud in the car where it matters to me most.
