New Spy Shot 10/23
Sometimes plain is good. Driving around with those tailights during Christmas might put a smile on little childrens faces and visions of candy canes dancing in their heads but what happens the rest of the year? Maybe Ford is going to open up a chain of Barbershops and its subliminal.

Im still thinking this is one of the best mustangs of all time with the hips, upgraded int.,wheels, colors, attention to details etc. But this rear end looks horrible IMO. I understand the concept of shorter rear deck, new lights, air diffuser(?) etc. But somethings just not right about it. I hope Im wrong and it looks better when its revealed.
It just seems to me that every change on this car is really well thought out except for the rear end.
Im sure it will grow on me, but Im just worried that "if" its deal breaker for some, I cant see any way that aftermarket parts could make it look any better.
Of course, when I hear the roar of the 5.0 in the 2011 with 400hp, Im prepared to be very forgiving for any shortcomings.........even if its a smiling rear end with a black truck bumper glued to it.........

I can deal with the weird rear bumper, I can deal with the funky tails, I can even deal with no 5.0 for the first year. But I absolutely cannot stand the black cladding's TRANSITION!!!
The front is just a chunky lip, and then it breaks at the wheel well. At the rocker, it's a different chunky shape, and juts out from the door skin level. After the rear wheel well it's flush with the bumper. Get some continuity here, it looks completely stupid! It should flow and transition from one panel to the next. I for one will be getting an aftermarket body kit to cover up this choppy crap from Ford. Most likely a Saleen, as supposedly they are revamping the rear end a lot. This crap reminds me of my Thunderbird with the same problem... front bumper lip, and gone at the rocker. Make it FLOW!!! Ford just cannot get this right.

Example of good flow and transition!

Anyone agree?

All that black plastic stuff along the bottom front, sides and rear is a poor attempt to make the car not look as tall (big) as it really is (it is also fat and long). This car is bulking up. Are we heading for a rendition of the '71-73 era?

Remember how the hips (and body lines) on the 1969 Fastback and the 69 Convert were different?? Somebody has got to have pics......It's just the way it has to be to accomendate the top I guess!!

Yep. Making it shorter ( changing the wheelbase ) would mean changing the floorpan stamping, trans tunnel, and many other structural bits. Also would require re-crash certification. That would be an all-new car, not a facelift.

and black trim really ruins it. Flashy in a cheap way. That interior is to die for!!!
