New SMS White, Yellow and Black Label Mustangs

SMS unveiled their new line of Mustangs yesterday at the Fabulous Fords show in SoCal:

What do you guys think? Smart to offer a bare-bones $35k model?

I used to love Saleen cars but now they seem to have dropped off in terms of quality and style over the past 3 years or so.

The white one looks cool at first glance, but the body pieces look tacked on and there appear to be some ugly gaps.

$35,000 is way too much for the basic one. That gets you a nicely-equipped GT Premium.

Kind of a shame overall in my opinion.

yeah while there are a few things here and there that might be neat, most of this stuff is just stick on garbage. Just because it was made for a Mustang doesn't mean its a good thing.

ugh... yeah.. no thanks on those appearance mods. The tail treatement is okay... but the rest is entirely unappealing to me..

Those wheels in particular represent everything that turns me off from mustang wheels choices from recent years. Really ugly and tacky, IMO...pobably 13 years out of style too.

Saleen has a long history of making hot Mustangs. I have little doubt that these are a blast to drive but the looks are NOT doing it for me.

lol I love the front, and think the tail/spoiler is hideous

I'm sure some people will find it overall very appealing, or ugly all around

its $35K for the whole car right? It's not just an add on package?

If that's the case I think its a good deal if you like the styling.

I can deal with the black decklid panel, the new hood, and the front grille. After that, it all just looks too busy and tacked on. A lot of the fitment looks pretty poor as well.

I love the front end, hate the back end with the extended tail... With the exception of the diffuser; I like that diffuser.

Anyway, here's a pic of the booth. =D

And Steve Saleen at the booth.

Those wheels look the same as the ones you get on the basic mustang just polished. IMO they look better.

He can keep it. I like the front, but that spoiler is just to big. $35k is not to bad for the base though. Even at $45k it looks like it could go head to head with the Roush. who knows though. For that kinda money I would go pick up a 500 and call it a day.

This is the one you get for starting at $35K. I love how Steve berated Saleen Performance Vehicles when they unveiled the 435S last year, and now SMS is offering pretty much the same thing! If you can't beat 'em, join 'em, I suppose...

I think it's funny/disgusting that your sentence had Steve and Saleen as two separate entities in the same sentence.

It's "Speedlab" now, as if this whole soap opera weren't confusing enough.

Maybe the wing picks up radio waves...and that's why they deleted the antenna
