I stumbled over this in the Parts catalog today. It is a derivitive of the
Zepher 3.5L Motor I would surmize. FYI Take it with a Grain of salt. You are Seeing what is says.

wow 3.7L version...sounds to me like a duratech 35 version. But if the base is getting the 3.7L that insane. I can only imagine what is in store for the GT.

btw..the fusion does not have the 3.5 but the 3.0.

So the Mustang V6 gets a slightly increased version of this motor? LOL!

I sure hope they keep the compression ratio top about 9.0:1 and no more than 9.2:1...

Also, I hope they go ahead and slap in the forged rods again, and pistons.. Keep a slight dish on the piston top.. No flat-top pistons..

Although the flat-tops are doing good up to 23psi!

That engine can be used in front and rear wheel drive cars...
Chill, the mustang isn't going front wheel

And it would be nice to get the 3.7 version of the Cyclone...
I'd love for it to be between 250-265hp and nice ammounts of Torque on 87 octane

Bring on the BOSS 5.8 for the GT

?????????????
The current 3.5L version is rated @ 265 HP on 87 octane.

The word is Ford is going to rate their future engines on 91 octane, although they will run OK on 87. This is because Toyota, Nissan, Honda, etc does gives HP #s on 91.

I'd expect the D37 Mustang engine to be rated @ 300 HP / 270 lb ft on 91 and 280 HP on 87.

I view this as good news, VERY good news. You have to know that this V-6 is going to be good for probably 275 which means the next 8 will be good for minimum 350. People won't buy up if there isn't a decent gap between engines.

VERY COOL!!

Sorry..v10 what I meant was....
If it was rated at that... and the torque was brought up .... so it would still be 265hp, but a good dose of torque

T'would be nice if they could get that compression out of the 4.6 - methinks it would be worth a few points in power (can't remeber the actual increase, but IIRC it would be in the 2-4% area) as well as economy.

Probably closer to 7-7.5K. My 3.2 liter M3 motor makes 333hp 7,900 rpm.
