NEW HI-RES 2013 STANG PICS!!!!
its insane how people feel the need to become so negative towards something new simply because they don't have it or its the newest revision of there now 1-2 year old thing. Im one of those people who loved the new 2010 body style but didn't want to wait for the motor and im not over here trying to quantify why my choice was better/worse.
dude, seriously, you need to take a chill pill. What the heck are you talking about? Who denigrated who? You having a bad day or something?
Read the posts I quoted above. If you look, all I said was I agreed with someone else's post. YOU responded to mine bashing the 12's looks. So who "denigrated" who? What in the world are you talking about. If anything, go bash on the guy that posted the original comment that I agreed to.
Chill. Relax. And get back on topic. This is an internet forum. People have opinions. People have opinions on opinions. That's just how it is. Get over it. Move on.

Those of us fortunate enough to buy a new car have to buy in at some point in time. We know things will change! Buy the car you like when the motivation is strong enough to do so and live with it... or LEASE your cars and you won't have to worry about it.
Here's the catch:
These upgrades sting because many of us seem to look back at the history of Muscle Cars and hope to buy in at the "1972 moment" where after that model year, things started going down hill hard and fast. That way, we could be happy with our huge investment and nothing would come along to make us regret our purchase.
With the price of gas set to keep going up, new CAFE regulations coming along... it's possible that cars from this era in general will resemble the late 60s/early 70s...and barring and huge disaster, I'm certain that any Mustang made up to this point will be a classic and loved regardless of the subsequent model year being slightly superior.
How did the rear end lose the diaper rear end, i thought it was pretty much the same except for the tail lights?
The only thing I like better about the 13 is the fact that you can FINALLY get brembos with the automatic. Now if only you could get the track pack as well...
The new body style really isn't my thing, but to each their own.

Gotta Hate It Green
You can go back in time and see where the 99-04 guys didn't like the 05-09s, the 05-09 guys didn't like the 10-12s, so forth and so on. I learned a long time ago that you can't please all people, all the time. The 2013s are here and I think they're a nice update to the 10-12s. I have a 2011 GT Premium (and also had a 2010 GT Premium before that) and will be trading it in on a 2013. I can barely wait!
ps: I'm glad there are some who like the 2010-12's better ...it helps the resale value of my 2011 at trade-in time

I'n my opinion it looks ok but I just always liked plastic trim on a car. Gave a cleaner, sleeker look. The side skirts actually look cheap painted on the new body style. The redesign of the front and back look fine without the original black plastic parts but the side skirts looks like an easy bolt on mod.
I don't understand the argument over the "painted side skirts." If you get a black or grey car, then maybe the black plastic wouldn't stick out, but when I was looking at 12s, I felt really limited to either of those colors because of the black plastic rocker panels. I've always wanted a white car, but that wasn't even a consideration for me with the unpainted rocker panels. Styling changes aside, I'm not sure how this change can't be viewed as an improvement, unless you're going for offroad/SUV capabilities in your Mustang, then it that case the black plastic would be easier to clean.
And a separate but related issue: the 13 doesn't have ground effects, so why are people calling the rocker panels side skirts? They're rocker panels!
I really just want to see it in person up close before I really decide if I like it or not. Saw a SBY BOSS at the 500 when I drove by and I thought it was gorgeous but when I see some of the pictures released I think ehh its OK. Things tend to look better for me in person.
I just like poking at people.
Edit: Actually.....from this angle a 2013 GT Premium in GB is pretty sexy.
