Is the 09 Mustang going to get the new Ford 3-Bar grille in some form or another? Or is going to stick with the honeycomb-esque grille that it has now?

I doubt they'll adopt the 3 bar grill unless they drop the "classic" Mustang styling and go in a different styling direction.

I don't think the three bar grill would look good on a Mustang. The honeycomb w/fogs works well.

I'd personally like to see the crosshatch egg crate style that doug had in his photoshop...

Like on the GTR-44 but only deeper (like the 05s production grille)

I was just thinking about that....
as you might remember from this thread:
http://forums.bradbarnett.net/index.php?sh...ar%20grill&st=0
i'd be down with it. I think they could pull it off, and if they did pull it off, it'd probably do a lot for sales of the other ford cars. Like, as it is, a lot of people like the mustang, but there isn't much tying it to the rest of the ford line up. If the mustang had a 3 bar grill... and then somebody sees this full size sedan called the 500 with a mustang grill on it, that sedan would look pretty cool thanks to the mustang association.

here's a chop from that thread done by grr428

i still think they could make it look cool. While that's a very good chop, i think ford could work it a bit and make it look really good. But ya... i understand where y'all are coming from.

NO. Please don't ever put a three bar grill on the Mustang. Sales would drop. Compare the 'new' Challenger with the 'new' Camaro. Retro dones correctly works well. I don't see any of the 60 Camaros in the new style.

A three bar grille belongs on a Mustang about as much as a moustache and beard belong on Angelina Jolie.

The Mustang never follows the corporate face..becasue no one would mistake the mustang for anything but a Ford Mustang.

actually, i saw a poll on autoblog i think it was, where the camaro was significantly ahead of the challenger.

I don't think the mustang needs the grill to get recognized, obviously everybody would recognize it as a mustang regardless of whether it has chrome bars in the grill. I just think that if they could pull it off somehow, slip that grill in there subtly, then the rest of ford's line would benefit from a stronger affiliation with the mustang.

What if it was black chrome??!

I found these pics, but I can't remember where, I don't think that it would look too bad at all.

I'm trying to figure out whether I think that looks awesome because of the hood or the grille. Or both.

that's from the thread i started a couple months ago, and the chops are from grrr428. They're great chops, but i think ford could make it look a lot better than that. Especially if the thing's got hips!

she would still be hot.............i would just have to bring along my gillette!

but i dont think the 3 bar grill fits on the 05+ mustang. that would have to redo the entire front to get it to fit. and then it wouldnt look like a mustang
