You are the one who has to live with the options you pick. Its a lot cheaper to order the options you want while the car is being built at the factory than adding them later on. I love my Electronic Package and Reverse camera. I even like the Spoiler that comes with the Reverse camera, high quality, solid and the perfect size.

Personally I had this apples to oranges debate but it was the Electronics package Vs the Glass Roof (which is closer in price)

I would say you should consider the Glass roof as a better investment. The electronics package is more than just a nav and very cool looking, but honestly get a droid and you have better nav, onboard mp3 (with 4 gigs more memory!), The INTERNET, and internet apps like Pandora/Trapster (which are now being integrated with Sync) for 1/10 the price. Also if you don't plan on tracking the car much the Brembo's aren't a very good investment either.

The glass roof on the other hand is something you don't see on any other car. The look of having a continuous piece of glass from hood to trunk is very sexy IMO and inside the cabin feels warm and open. It's like being in a convertible that is impervious to the elements.

Instead of getting the Electronics Package take 200 bucks for a droid and 40 for a nice car mount and get the Glass Roof.

EP____Droid_______ Glass Roof_ Profit
2,340 - 240 = 2, 100 - 1,995 = $105

If you're only going with ONE, then the EP is the way to go. There's no way you could add that in down the road.

On the other hand, if you want to add the Brembos, you basically can buy the parts through Ford, find someone with a set of takeoff Brembo 19s, and put it together that way. Keep in mind though, it's not just brakes and wheels. There's a different ESC tune, and KC recently found a unique set of springs for the Brembo pkg as well.

Most of the braking is done by the front rotors, so it would be a good option for someone who wants to spend less than the amount to replace all 4 rotors and calipers.

Right. The more I think/read, I will really try to pull off both. I agree that the EP can't be replaced. I won't go aftermarket either. I wouldn't mind the sport tuned ESC though, that is very enticing.

I am interested to see what aftermarket wheels will and will not work with the Brembo pkg. right now, it's Ford's wheels and the RTR wheels. Given their design, I understand why they work. I like that the aftermarket FRPP Brembo set just requires an 18" wheel.

There is the wife factor as well. I already won the manual over the automatic debate. She has also voiced the opinion of EP over the Brembo's as well. I figure the sport mode is like my wife anyway, lets me get only slightly crazy but keeps me reeled in when I need it.

If ESC settings were this, I could see a new advertising strategy:
MARRIED = FULL ESC/TRACTION CONTROL
ENGUAGED = ESC SPORT MODE
DATING = TRACTION CONTROL ON
SINGLE = ESC ALL OFF/TRACTION CONTROL OFF

what do you really get with the brembo esc tune, is it that much of a difference?

Also, I really like the GT brace over the engine that you get when you add 19s or the Brembo package (i did read that it could be added later for about $150).

Another item to consider, how much is it to replace brembo breaks? I am not a racer, I have no idea. Is it more than replacing regular brake pads when the time comes?

Finally, 19s cost more than 18s to replace. I read a lot about replacing the wheels and you won't have to do that, but the rubber has an extra cost as they become consumed.
What is there to replace on the EP? Software updates is about all I can think of...

Not pushing one way or the other, I personally am looking for the brembos over the EP because I like the look of them with the color car I want. I also realize (as someone that does not track their car) that going with the Brembos make no logical sense in my specific case...but deep down, it is what I would prefer.

Don't really know what the EP has to offer but in my mind the Brembo offers additional safety and an awesome set of wheels. The car looks so much better with those rims than the others IMHO. Besides who really needs a navigation system. Just another expense that is not really necessary. Go for the Brembos unless you can swing both!

Based on what math? PLUS, you'll be able to do all 4 corners and not just the front. But more importantly, the option exists. You're not gonna upgrade the center stack that easily.

Especially since Nav is faulty. You wouldn't believe the directions to my house. Diverts you off the highway to a forest service road (cinder) for several miles.

Aging GPS sats, inept programmers, and these articles are frequent:

GPS unit leads another family astray in Southern Oregon

GRANTS PASS -- People keep getting stranded following directions from their GPS units to follow backcountry roads.

The Grants Pass Daily Courier reports that Melissa Batz of Aumsville and her two kids were about 15 minutes from reaching their destination at a campground along the Rogue River last Friday when the unit in her car sent them on a detour.

I've never seen "Neither Brembo or Baer are sold at Wal-Mart" on a calculator before! You must have some state-of-the-art **** there!

So what you're saying is that because they're not sold at Wal-mart, they MUST be astronomically expensive?

Have you checked Target?

you can buy the cobra R setup for around 800-900 I believe as that is what a lot of the 03-04 cobra owners put on their cars.

well I disagree, I think the NAV system is worth every penny and delivers what it is set out to do.

I love the tactical trunk monkey!

As far as the brakes are concerned, the Brembo upgrade for the fronts as listed by FRPP is around $1200 from Internet sites, $1489 listed by FRPP. http://www.fordracingparts.com/parts...tKeyField=9540

With everything else that comes with the Brembo pkg, it is quite a deal from my perspective.
I haven't used the phone settings of the NAV system but I love the system in our 335 and it makes in car calls so much easier. I will weigh this heavily as I am an extreme advocate of hands free dialing, the Nav systems just makes it that much easier.

Made for the SN95 cars.

The GT500 brakes from Ford were/are around $1400.

For me, after I played with the EP at the dealer, it was a no brainer. I have to have it. There's so much functionality built in, and it actually WORKS compared to iDrive! Now, Brembo Pkg. I absolutely love the wheels, IMO best factory Mustang wheel ever. So, an awesome set of wheels and tires (IMO) paired with a nice set of 4-piston Brembos to fill those nice wheels up? Again, for ME a no brainer.

I don't know how you feel about the Glass Roof, but I thought it was a stupid over-priced option. Until I sat in a car with it. Another no brainer for me. Although, I still think it's $1000 over-priced, but if I were still buying right now, I'd HAVE to have those options. Period. I could take or leave the Comfort Pkg, Backup Cam, Security Pkg and gears. I'd like to have all of them, but the main 3 I'd need are the above.

I think it depends upon how long you want to keep the car. If you want to keep it for a long time, go with the Brembos or the glass roof.

Why? MAP UPDATES.

Companies only make map updates for a given map engine for a certain number of years. After that, the mapping engine changes and the new maps are no longer compatible with your navigation system. As time goes by and roads and points of interest change, the navigation becomes less and less accurate because it is stuck with stale maps.

I know that the electronics package is more than just navigation, but nav is a big part of it.
