New Automatic shifter for 2013

It was the "retro" look that got me into the Mustang after all these years. I hope the 2015 is not that much off of what they have now. I realize a style cannot be held onto forever....I just hope it does not go too far away from the looks it has now.
For me, the "perfect" retro would have been the dash from a 2005 (the high driver/passenger dash "humps") and rear end, with the 2011-2012 front end.

I agree. Love the back of the 2005-2009 and the front of my 2012. And I guess I am one of few that doesn't like the 2013, especially the back with the lights and black piano black plastic strip. As time goes on, I have a feeling that my 2012 (and all 2005 - 2012 models) will become even more "classic" as the newer Mustangs begin to take on a newer, less distinctively "Mustang," look. As the previous poster said, it was the 2005 retro styling that grabbed my attention and got me considering a Mustang and I finally bought one a few months ago.

so convenient that they put the window button on the shifter!
but seriously, that looks pretty cheesy. I cant really imagine driving and enthusiastically "pressing" the gear change. I would not like the upshift and downshift "buttons" to both fit under my thumb at the same time. lol. Hopefully the aftermarket industry will offer some better options.
Perhaps a game controller for a steering wheel next?

I think it's a great idea and I will basically use it to hold fourth gear when driving in town. It's nice to have some rpms to make your car sound good when your rolling through town. I don't think I will ever use the button to shift the car but it will be nice to hold gears.

It may look like fun, and they may be touting it as a more 'aggressive' manumatic.. but at the end of the day, it's a boring feature.
I had the same exact feature on my 2012 Focus and it was fun for the first week, then I stopped using it completely. Sure they could probably retro-fit it, but why bother? Go test drive one when they come out and get your jollies, then realize that what you have is already amazing. Don't waste your $$$ .. spend it on some sweet new modifications instead.
People will (do) bash automatics all the time, but I've never in my life driven one that was so responsive. Sure the manual is fun (unless you live in hill country like myself), and you can reach a higher overall speed (much, much higher) .. but the automatic gets better gas mileage (especially important for daily drivers) and is (now) much faster off the line. There are benefits and drawbacks for both, but at the end of the day both transmissions reside within the same, AMAZING vehicle!
So happy to be back in a Mustang!!

Because the automatic is limited at 119 MPH! I'm sure it can go faster after a tune, which I'm considering at the moment.
