Z06's are conservatively 505 Hp and weigh as much as my civic. Why do people keep comparing these cars. I had a 550Hp Cat but it was in a 60000lb truck. It did the quarter in about 45 seconds.

 

You mean the $75,000+ two seat sport car is faster than a $55,000 four seat coupe?

Next you'll be telling me the $1.5 Million Veyron is faster than the $75k Z06.

 

Most journalists typically are not great at driving and have little to no experience drag racing. If they can pull off low 12 second 1/4 mile runs then an experienced drag racer should be able to do much better. I wouldn't be surprised if the car can run mid 11s on street tires.

Z06 has two seats, costs thousands more, and is built by Government Motors which means it cost all of us a few dollars too

All funny comments. But I get sick of hearing that we have nothing for the Almighty zo6; which is true. I just hope the 13' will give it a run for it's money. I understand the differences in the cars but both companies are appealing to the same market with those 2.

 

Z06 is basically a street legal track car. The gt500 is the big brawler that will eat just about anything in its way. 2 seats vs 4 seats. Sophistaced tech vs simple power. IRS vs SRA. GM vs Ford. Yes theyre both phenomenal cars but two totally different beasts. Id rather have a gt500 over a z06 (or any other vette for that matter) anyday. The kind of respect you get in the mustang is unbeatable

 

I haven't seen anyone in a Z06 get disrespected either lol
