Question New 2011 GT Brembo

I just got a 2011 GT Brembo with the 3.73 gear. Great car, prior to this one I owned a 2002 Porsche Carrera (modified suspension) and a 2005 Infiniti G35 coupe. My GT feels great compared to my old Carrera. The only things that bother me is the Sync system, most of the time does not follow up the instruction requested, also the automatic dimming rear view mirror does not work. Twice I toke my car to the dealer, and they don't find the issue. Anybody else with the same issue?. Any advice?

Welcome. I also came from a carrera (2001 C4) and really enjoy the new V8.

What problems are you having with sync? Voice command?

Never had a problem with the mirrors, but others may chime in.

I had dimming mirror issues in my 08. For me it seemed the rear spoiler was blocking the view of the sensor and couldn't always see the car lights behind me. If it can't see the lights, it wouldn't dim.

The problem is the voice command (directions, phone, etc.)
Also will like to know, that If you activate the Sync "vehicle health report", the way that you drive (example, if you race), could it be monitored for warranty purpose?

The auto-dimming rear view mirror dims about 25% of what it ought to. It sux.

No idea on tracking for warranty, but it's unlikely as ford supports trips to the track, hence the different gearing offered.

Can you have someone else try the voice commands? Maybe it's your voice? Otherwise the mic might be faulty.

Regarding the voice command...did you see there is an option to create a voice profile? It asks you to repeat certain commands to get to know your voice. I thought it helped out. That may be worth a shot if you haven't looked into it already...

I'm about to order a '12 and the whole Microsoft Sync thing worries me a bit. As a die-hard Apple user, I keep feeling like I'm going to see "Sync not responding" in the display.

i know what you mean. however, MS has managed to produce two pretty good pieces of technology. SYNC, which works pretty well with my iphone 4, and the XBOX 360 (2nd gen).

I'm an apple guy too and I love the Sync. I download music from Itunes right to a stick drive and plug it into the usb. It works great with my Iphone and the bluetooth is seamless. There are few glitches sometimes , but overall it works fine.

The Sync voice command lost-her-mind on my vehicle.

It went from great recognition to recognizing something totally different than my direction.

Normal operation was restored by resetting the system, unpairing / repairing the phone.

It is working great again.

The partial reset was useless.

The full reset was required.
