Need your advice!!!

Hey All,

I am really torn on a 2011 v6 or 2010gt. I found a 2010gt with track pack, hid, sec pack, comf pack for 28k maybe 27500 sticker is 35200 or go v6 premium with 3.31 for about the same price. This car is almost the exact same car as the 2010 and its nice

https://themustangsource.com/f783/gt...ks-old-480622/

Should have drove it but plan to do that tomorrow. How is the ride quality with the track pack and what would you do?

Can't decide. Anyone that drove a 2010 track pack have any input?

Do you care about insurance/gas mileage? How important is the V8 to you? If I could afford the insurance and found a 2010 GT that had exactly what I wanted on it, I'd get it over the V6 hands down. But the V8 exhaust note is worth it to me.

my insurance premiums would only increase 18 bucks a month over my explorer with a 2010gt and i dont really drive enough where gas will be a huge difference so to those two things not a big deal. I have drove a 2010gt without the track pack and thought I wanted better handling which is exaclty what the track pack gives but not sure how much it affects ride quality yet and man those tires are expensive. Is the 2011 v6 a better quality car is another question?

Well you didn't answer if the V8 was that important to you. The new V6 will get better mpg, have lower insurance premiums, be 9/10 as fast stock for stock, and if you wait for the V6 Performance Package, will match the handling of the 2010 GT Track Pack.

Are you opposed to modding the car? You can get the Roush/Steeda lowering springs installed at your Ford dealer, with the factory shocks and struts, and increase the handling and response, while keeping the ride quality. Also, you don't necessarily have to replace the tires with the same model. There are a lot of performance tires out there for a lot less $.

no brainer. The 10... If anyone had the choice between a v6 or a v8.. why would anyone (unless it was your every day car, maybe) choose a 6? Just the v8 sound alone would be enough.. It will be quite a bit faster then the 6 too.

The other side of this would be that you could own the first V6 Mustang worth bragging about. When looking at a 315hp/24mpg V8 v 305hp/31mpg V6 it's not a no-brainer.

...and if by, "...quite a bit faster...," you mean, "...by a car length at the most...," then yes, you're right.

Come on up to Seattle. We have a brand new 2010 TrackPack for just $27,950 after rebate. MSRP was $35,285. Click here for pics & details. HID's, security pkg, comfort pkg, etc.

Hey buddy, I am in the same boat. I have found a couple of 2010 Track Pack cars that seem like I could get the monthly payments into a much lower area. I am not choosing between the V6 though, I am going GT vs GT. It looks as though I can get the 2011 by way of financing miracle that BOA will offer their lowest rate. Otherwise, the 2011 is just out of contention this time around. I am also thinking that if I can get comfortably into a 2010 for this low now, trade in will be great later, even if I am in the hole on the 2010. I can just wait for my 2011 to come around another day. I know it doesn't seem like much but I can get a 2010 for about $100 bucks less or more per month than a 2011. Like I said the 2010 looks like a guaranteed win, the 2011 I can make work only by a real stretch and if all things align for me.

Sorry if that didn't help you any, just wanted you to know you're not the only one in the same boat.

Thanks for all the input. Brian that looks like almost the exact same deal I was offered but different color. It's also good to know that I can get different size tires that helps. This will be my daily driver so would the track pack be impracticle?

The Track Pack really isn't that big of a deal...it's not THAT much changed from the standard GT, and the 2011 GT pretty much incorporated the majority of the suspension changes.

tempting Brian but I require the elec pkg. But no doubt that pricing is right. For the options I'm willing to accept the MSRP is like $36k. I think $28k after rebates is a reasonable deal and would make me get a '10 over an '11. But no such deal exists in SoCal...
