Am I missing something here? How am I suppose to use a wrench to loosen the 22mm nut on the top of the strut? If I use a socket I can't put a wrench on the strut to keep it from spinning.
Every installation instructions show a different upper strut mount where the nut is out in the open on top, not sunken down there.

This is on a 2012 GT. Any help would be greatly appriciated. I'm starting to get frustrated

 

Well got it apart to just to find out that the gt500 strut mounts don't work with the oem struts

 

I saw that you got the strut nut loose, but next time, loosen that nut before you jack the car up. Makes it a ton easier.

And yeah, GT500 mounts and oem GT struts = no joy.

 

Weird, just before I came over to the computer and read your reply I thought about that but figured the strut would still spin. But you are correct sir, that IS the way to do it.

That will definatly make the other side much easier!!
