Angry Need Help Quick

Does anyone know of a reliable performance shop in the Houston area capable of performing custom tuning on a new ECM ??

Here's my problem.. I purchased a 2010 GT premium about 1 year ago I purchased it ford certified pre-owned or so I thought upon driving It I realized it was not a stock car. The head mechanic at the service department said it was camed and had been tuned so that voided the ford warranty. To make me happy the dealer signed and notarized a letter with my attorney present stating they would be responsible for any damaged to the power train up to 100K miles. I bout the car with 38K it now has 49K thanks to the recent trip to Mustang Week and a few other trips. One the way back third gear started going out. Took the car back to the dealer I purchased it from they sent it out to get the transmission rebuilt upon receiving the car back they call me and say that the ECM is out an there going to install a new ECM and retune it by using the tune for that VIN. I kindly informed him that the car is heavily mortified (like I bought it) that a factory tune wouldn't work due to the cams and stuff that it needed to have a custom tune done so they could input the supporting mods. There going to pay to have it done but don't currently know of anyplace that does this.

If anyone knows of a great and professional place in the Houston area please help me out so the faith of my stang is not in the hands of totally clueless people. Price is no problem due to i'm not paying for it I just want it done right.

I think Fastlane is currently the most reputable tuner/shop for Mustangs in Houston. And probably the most expensive.

Nice guy that owns it, has a bad a** ProCharged Mustang street car that is capable of 8 second 1/4's.

Been tuning Fords in the area for a long time.

Wait this dealer is gonna pay an aftermarket shop to do the tuning on this vehicle?

My guess would be they are ordering all stock parts too to match the stock PCM + keep within their warranty agreement...

QUOTE=JPMotorSport;6669141]Wait this dealer is going to pay an aftermarket shop to do the tuning on this vehicle?
My guess would be they are ordering all stock parts too to match the stock PCM + keep within their warranty agreement...[/QUOTE] No.. When i purchased the car it was already camed out by the previous owner.. The dealer sold it to me as Ford Certified Pre-owned with full remaining Warranty after i signed the paperwork and everything was final they call me back in to do a second inspection and then tell me due to the car being modified that ford wouldn't warranty it.. So i then contacted my lawyer due to all paperwork being finalized and needing some advice, So the dealer then agreed to pay for any damage and all cost for the power train for 5 years or 100K miles if anything was to happen. It was all signed and filed with my attorney.

On the way back from Mustang Week 3rd Gear started having a god awful grinding when trying to go into gear. Long story Short the dealer took it to a outside mechanic to get the Transmission rebuilt after i told them several times not to Sub the work out to a mom and Pop shop. They received the car back with ECM problems. The dealer said something’s wrong with the Tune and were going to reinstall the OEM tune. After explaining the car had a lot of modifications they agreed to send it out for a custom Tuning.

I spoke With the Guy from Strictly Performance and with my dealer there going to send it there for a custom tune. I think at this point there just trying to make me happy.

Should run better and make more power when you get it done.
