Need Advice

I'm looking to sell my heavily modded 2013 Mustang GT. I have had it up on a couple sites now like craigslist and ebay for about 2 months but no luck. Do you guys have any recommendations on where I how I should sell my car. It is not overpriced I have had it appraised and have checked out the competition locally who also is selling there mustang and I feel like I came up with a more than reasonable price. Just curious as to where ppl even sell modded cars at.

What's done to it? What options does it have? Where are you located?

There are other sites like autotrader or cars.com, or even consignment dealerships...

I'm not gonna put a whole mod list up but everything on the car is aftermarket and upgraded, suspension, interior, exterior, clutch, and engine. Only thing not aftermarket is the engine it self. I didn't rebuild it. Back up camera, gps, the whole 9. Car dyno'd at 641rwhp and 555ft lbs of torque. Wasnt really into autotrader and cars.com but i guess i could put it up there as well

I think the market for a heavily modified car like that is fairly limited. So I think you have two options:
1) shotgun approach -- post it everywhere, in hopes that will reach those few buyers who will be interested
2) specialized "rifle" approach -- post on performance-oriented boards like this one; target local performance oriented clubs or events . . . maybe a local race track? Performance shop? Cruise nights / car shows?

Also if you are trying to get more money for the mods, you might be overpricing it. I know you said you checked that out . . . but from what I understand, modified cars generally don't sell for much more than the same car without the mods. You might have more luck putting it back to stock, dropping the price, and selling the mods separately.

Without a complete mod list and pictures, it is hard to give much advice.

Start lowering your price every 4 or 5 days. Don't renew the add make a whole new one. That way people won't see that it has been listed for a month and think something is wrong with it. Most of my flips have sold on craigslist. Ebay usually does not bring as much as craiglist from what I have seen. Everyone wants a deal from that place. I have had no luck on autotrader.

Thank you. I wish selling it was as easy as building it up. Everything i out into the car has less than 2000 miles driven on it. I just bought the car like 6 months ago. I really want a gt500 but gotta sell this one 1st.

I think you are going to need to put it on a variety of sites, and be patient. A lot of people do not want to buy a modded car, especially one as modded as yours. It's well done but a narrow market.

Nitrous tends to scare off some people as well, and also some people want the power always there. Just be patient and post the ad everywhere

Ive had my 14 VMP SC stang up for sale for over a month and I only got a couple of bites. Bad thing is its the wrong time of the year to sell so I will de-mod this winter and then trade it.

I think it's too heavily modified that people think it was use for track or racing. People tend to buy stock than heavy modified cars.

I think the problem is that the price is almost 10k more than what you can get a stock 5.0 for. Not that its not worth every penny, its just tough for people to justify. A lot of people shopping for a car would rather have that extra 10k to pick the parts they would want. You have a really nice setup but someone else looking to mod might not want that setup. I also feel that a nitrous setup adds zero value and even takes away from it. I know if done right it is fairly safe but most people I know won't buy a nitrous car. I have over $15k in mods easily and if I was going to sell or trade I would take every last thing off and return to stock and sell the parts. Don't know why you would take the hit on you car for a GT500. At this point you may as well just build the motor and go nuts. I can see if you wanted an entirely different car but to get rid of what you have, take a loss, buy a gt500, then mod that, makes no sense unless you really need that shelby badge.
